The Green Jacket Personal Flotation Device is Astral's most innovative and comfortable life vest. This is a PFD for river guides and expedition paddlers that's been tested in the most extreme paddling environments. The Tectonic foam panel fit system allows the outer panel to move freely to maximize our mobility while the inner panel stays planted against our body to keep our PFD in place. There's a quick-release harness that's stitched into the side of the vest for integrity, rope-ready storage under the front panel, and side pockets to store our throw rope. Additional Astral jacket to the paddling arsenal!
First Astral jacket I bought was the Indus which has been great for spring paddling and higher flows due to the additional flotation. However was looking for more streamline jacket for summer paddling/"normal flows". Ended up purchasing a Green Jacket and can't be happier - love the stream line feel and front pocket! Nice to have both jackets in the arsenal!

Excellent PFD for guides and instructors
I have been using this PFD since I started my guide service, Four Corners Guides, Colorado, in 2019. It's an excellent choice due to its versatility, durability, and comfort. I utilize the main front pocket all the time. I I am able to quickly get in and out of it to grab my tow line to rescue boats. That pocket also has my sundries, from sunscreen to lip balm to snacks for the day. It's roomy but not bulky. I am still easily able to re-enter my packraft no matter how full it is. I also like the side pockets, which I tuck things in regularly. I only purchased a new PFD because mine was six years old. My old one still is in excellent condition and has not a blemish, tear or other problem, despite the fact that I definitely put it through the paces. But I have to be a responsible guide :-)

Very comfortable
The most comfortable PFD I've ever had. I love the big front pouch, as well as the two side gear pockets.

My Second Green Jacket
This is my second Green Jacket. The best features are the back pockets which I put my hardware and prussiks in. Front clamshell keeps small things like sunscreen and surf ears. Unfortunately I can't put much more in there as it becomes too bulky for me. Obviously there is all the tech specs that make it a good choice buoyancy and rescue wise.

Rescue vest size small
This is the best life jacket I've ever owned. One downside is it's hard to get off compared to others that unclip.

Green Jacket
The Astral Green jacket pfd is extremely comfortable and in no way feels like it limits movement when paddling. I needed a rescue pfd for my work with search and rescue. Although I have not used it to date on a mission I am sure it will perform well. I could not be more satisfied with this pfd.

Supremely comfortable
The Greenjacket is the best PFD I have ever owned, I wear it almost everyday for 4 months straight and it's comfortable, easy to use, and has plenty of storage for all my stuff. Definitely recommend it for anyone doing work on the water.

Personal favorite PFD
I love my Greenjacket. It is the perfect blend of storage and comfort. I can playboat and be flexible in it and still carry whatever I need. I really love the clamshell, it is spacious without being too bulky. I also like how it opens and makes a little space to set things when opened most of the way if I am in a calm spot or on the riverbank. It is also very comfortable for a long day on the water.
