Is this custom made??
I never thought I'd find a PFD that fits me so well! Normally as soon as I hit shore, I throw my PFD off, not the Layla. I could wear this all day, it feels like a custom fit. It molds to my body perfectly and doesn't get in the way during those intense paddles. Bonus, I love the pocket for easy access.

Nice Jacket
Great fit but wish there was a little more storage/pocket space. Also, the waist buckle gets sucked into the vest and I have to fish out each time

Great Fit for Growing Kids

My 12-year-old son kayaks with me and wanted something more comfortable than his kids’ NRS PFD. He’s tall, skinny, and about 90 lbs, and this XS adult size fits him perfectly. It’s great to find a neutral color option in red this year. So far, he really likes it—comfortable, well-fitting, and a solid upgrade from his youth vest.

Best pfd for women.
This is my second Layla. As a female kayaker with boobs, this is the only pfd that really fits. Love the front zip. The cut is perfect. I've tried them all and this is the only one that really fits since the Lotus. I do love my Layla.

Plenty of room to adjust to plus size
Has some great features. It’s very adjustable and I like the diagonal zipper. Unfortunately, I struggled to keep the shoulder straps tucked. There is a lot of extra fabric on the sides. I kept trying to either tuck it und the side straps or just let it stick out. I’ve had it out on 1 trip, so still figuring it all out.

Very comfy
I’m a dragonboater. My Layla PFD’s armholes are cut such that they do not interfere with my stroke at all. The off-set zipper and women’s cut lets it fit perfectly around my torso. I also like that Astral is responsibly environmental in their material selection.

Astral Layla and the Average/Long Waist Girl
If you like a high-waisted shorter torso jacket this is for you. Simply letting the shoulder straps out does not make it fit properly. If you like longer belly coverage, don't get it. The velcro zipper cover is cheap and loose. It does not prevent the zipper from pulling down. A better design would be to put a neoprene or nylon pocket for the zipper pull to insert into. The jacket itself is comfortable, and the front pocket large size is nice.

Comfortable and form fitting!
I’ve used my Layla 3 times now. I’ve found it to be quite comfortable and easy to put on/take off. I love how adjustable it is to make it conform to my body, and the pocket in the front is super convenient, whether I use it for snacks or holding my phone! Can’t wait to use it even more!!
