Here's what customers have to say
The Astral shoes are generally well-received for their excellent grip, breathability, and comfort, making them suitable for various outdoor activities. However, some users have experienced issues such as rough seams causing blisters, the shoes running slightly smaller than expected, and the fabric developing an unpleasant odor over time. Overall, the shoes seem to be a good choice for water-based activities, but users may need to take precautions to avoid potential problems.

Need to be sized properly
Runs way small, and created heal blisters in a matter of hours. If sized properly I think they would be great shoes

Best water shoes I've ever had
I was wary about transitioning from sandals to these because my toes love to be free. But, the wide toe box gives them room to curl and stretch as I paddle through gnarly rapids. The grip is also kudos worthy. I was putting in my kayak down a steep embankment with slippery stone steps recently, lost control of it, and I had to run after it before the current caught it. Maybe not my finest moment, but these bad boys gripped the stone and I was able to catch my little escapee just in time. You won't see me in anything but these when I'm out on the water.

Rough seams
I paddled a canoe for 230 miles in these shoes. There may not be the perfect shoe for eduarance canoe racing, but inside the loyak is a very rough seam near the small toe that gave me blisters on each foot. The darker color (navy) also held a lot of heat from the sun.

A cooler, snugger Loyak
Runs slightly smaller than the Loyaks in the toe box

So comfortable and lightweight!
Just got these a few weeks ago and they are so comfortable for kicking around town in! Looking forward to trying them on the river this summer!

Best Grip, Great Breathability, Fishing/Boating
Love the new colors. I wear my Loyak AC's on my fishing boat and for wet wading. Incredible ground feel and grip. The Rubber compound that Astral uses is probably the grippiest rubber I've ever used. I like the "AC" Version in particular for its breathability during hot days in the summer.

Loyak AC's
Super comfortable & good-looking shoes. Some sand got in and caused some chafing on my little toes. Ordering some fin socks to wear under these for my next adventure.

Perfect Water Light Adventure Shoe aka Costa Rica!
Wore these in Costa Rica last year and absolutely perfect for hot weather and water adventures! Comfortable, flexible, and minimal. Drains well and dries quickly after fully submerging your feet. Also keeps it's grip so you won't slip, even when wet. Highly recommend!

Disappointing
I've purchased two pairs of this product over the past 4 years. The first pair, the uppers began peeling. I loved the shoes so I kept wearing them especially since they were expensive. I wanted a new pair, and I noticed that they changed the material on the upper part of the shoe, so I purchased a new pair. First, I was very unhappy with the switch to shoelaces. They never, ever stay tied. I have to double tie them. The first pair I had, had elastic laces and were fantastic. The biggest issue with my second pair was the fact that the bottoms became extremely slippery. So slippery I could not wear them sailing anymore. I put them in my closet to wear walking around and yesterday I pulled them out. After a day of slipping and sliding on just about any surface, I checked to see what the warranty was like. I filed a warranty claim today. I'm curious to see how this is handled. I really love the look of these shoes, they are high priced, and I thought that meant good quality but the 2 pairs I have purchased have been disappointing in different ways.

Great river shoe
Great river shoe. I also have the older Loyak and it gets filled with pebbles. The new version is much better, maybe a little sand gets in. The traction is very good.
