The Backcountry Highliner PrimaLoft Air-Perm Fleece 1/4-Zip is built for high-mountain adventures and year-round exploration. Whether we're hiking ridgelines or transitioning back to town, this lightweight pullover delivers breathable warmth and packable convenience.
Constructed with PrimaLoft Active Evolve fleece, this layer is made entirely from recycled polyester, offering a thermoregulating system that wicks moisture and keeps us comfortable. The stretch-knit fabric moves with us, and integrated thumbholes provide extra coverage for changing weather. When it’s time to shed a layer, the Highliner packs neatly into its hidden neck pocket for easy carry and quick redeployment.

Initial perception is good long-term use

Pull over is super soft and lightweight and has a great aesthetic but after wearing it only a few times the fabric is starting to pull and has loose threads all over the front and back of it. definitely not going to hold up long term and disappointed in the quality for the price that's charged.

It's too flimsy to be considered a reliable piece for your kit. I haven't used it for anything remotely challenging/rugged, it developed holes just from pulling it on and off my head. Each time I remove it I find new snagged fibers that are just waiting to become holes. I wish I could return it. Pros: very lightweight (also the con as expressed above), very warm, very breathable. Also the zipper length is deep enough to be a good heat vent.

A great piece. I’ve been looking for a midlayer like this thay doesn’t have a hood. Have always been a huge fan of PrimaLoft. Compared to Senchi, which I also love, this is much softer feels almost velvety. Looks really nice person, color in photos is accurate. The piece is pretty thin and easy to layer, we’ll see how it holds up over time.

I checked out the Highliner PrimaLoft Air-Perm Fleece 1/4-Zip in-store, and it immediately caught my attention. It’s incredibly lightweight and fluffy, with a soft, breathable fabric that moves really well. This is the kind of fleece you barely feel on but still gives you the warmth you need for layering or wearing solo on cool days. What really got me excited, though, is the stow pocket in the back of the neck—I haven’t seen that feature before, and it’s such a smart, functional touch. Whether for hiking, travel, or everyday wear, I can already tell this piece is going to be a favorite. Definitely buying it!

Looks great but
This fleece looks great and feels even better. I was hoping for something a little bit heavier - this is pretty light weight. Delivery time was unacceptable.

New favorite fleece-insanely comfortable

Bought the hoodie version - was sold immediately. Got this 1/4 zip thinking it would end up only being a technical mid/base layer - nope - it fits so well that I started wearing it to the office for work. The Oil blue is my new favorite color. If you are looking for a hack to being comfortable and warm all day - this is it. Best money spent in a long time.
