Tahoe Sun Long-Sleeve Crew Shirt delivers lightweight comfort and UPF 50+ sun protection

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"The Tahoe Sun Crew is perfect for days when I need sun protection but want to skip the hood. It’s super lightweight, breathable, and stretches with me whether I’m paddling or relaxing by the lake. Plus, the thumbholes add just the right amount of coverage."

For those sun-soaked days on the trail or water, the Tahoe Sun Long-Sleeve Crew Shirt delivers dependable protection without the bulk. As the hoodless sibling to our popular sun hoodie, this shirt offers a versatile and casual alternative while maintaining the same UPF 50+ rating to shield us from harmful rays.

Crafted from lightweight, breathable fabric, the crew wicks away moisture, dries quickly, and moves with us thanks to its spandex blend. Thumbholes provide extra coverage when we need it, and the soft fabric ensures all-day comfort, whether we’re casting a line, hitting the trail, or paddling through calm waters.

I Agree With Vince E

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I didn't even realize that there had been a redesign of the Tahoe Crew. I have five Tahoe Crews, and seven Tahoe Hoodies. Clearly I love this shirt. The material is phenomenal. So much better than other shirts, by other brands that are designed for the same conditions. What initially caught my attention was the extremely annoying tag. First of all, it is scratchy, and secondly it always wants to stick up past the neckline. I had to cut it off. The other issues that Vince E. mentioned are also valid. Backcountry, I love you, but this tag was a bonehead move.

Big Downgrade From the Original

Unfortunately, this redesign is a huge downgrade from the previous version in my opinion. The neck hole is now bigger and feels super sloppy, and the sleeves don't taper down to the wrist the way they used to. They increased the sleeve length a bit for a slightly better thumbhole fit, which is fine, but the sleeve is very baggy down at the wrist. They removed the flat embedded tag in favor of a hanging scratchy version, and also removed the nice hang loop on the back of the shirt. This used to be one of the better fitting sun shirts for a decent price, and that's definitely not the case anymore.
