Here's what customers have to say

The camping stove is versatile, generating electricity from burning wood to charge devices. Reviewers praise its ease of use and powerful fan, as well as its compact and durable construction. However, some note it requires constant attention to maintain the fire, and the battery life for charging could be better. There are also concerns about the availability of replacement parts. Overall, the stove is an innovative product, though it may not suit all camping needs.

Meat over Fire!

We used our generation one so much that we had to use a seperate battery to keep this one going. YES, we love the product so much that once the generation one was hard to use, we got this new one, and we love it! small changes and high quality. We love cooking over fire in camping trips and boil our tea water, make soup, etc.

Excellent idea-execution meh

Used maybe 3 times in 2024. Wanted to try it again in summer of 2025 and well she won't hold charge after blasting the rod with heat. Fan making weird noises now. Can't recommend until they adress some of these issues.

Not just for glamping

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I did a remote wilderness trip last year and our group brought two biolites. While they take a little more attention than a canister-fuel backpacking stove, the convenience of not carrying lots of fuel, and the ability to recharge headlamps and cell phones makes it worth it. Don’t bother with all the accessories, except perhaps the kettle…. Not worth the weight for remote travel. Best accessories really are 1. A telescoping campfire blow tube; 2. A padded stuff sack to protect the stove body…. Wish these came as options with the stove, but they can be purchased separately. I was initially skeptical, but am now a convert. Loved this stove. Came back and just bought one for myself.

Post one week backpacking trip:

With the KettlePot it's heavy for backpacking but still viable. Slightly frustrating at first but once I found the right wood and learned the quirks I found cooking with it rather fun. Not very compatible with a strict schedule.

Small but so useful

Was gifted to my son for his small camper van. He couldn’t wait to experiment. It’s much better and safer than an open fire pit. He boiled water for noodles, boiled eggs and pan fried steaks on the first use. He was delighted.

Still no USB-C???

I have an original CampStove, and even though it's rather heavy for a backpacking stove, I like it a lot. I think the improvements are good, but still having Micro USB for your charging port in 2025 is very disappointing. USB-C is where everyone else has moved, including Apple... and if Apple beats you to accepting and moving to an industry accepted standard, then you are really behind! And that's coming from an Apple fan. If you still have a bunch of stock you had built in 2023, then run a sale, clear it out, and have a new version built with USB-C and whatever other upgrades you've been contemplating. USB-C is where everyone else has moved, including Apple... and if Apple beats you to accepting and moving to an industry accepted standard, then you are really behind! And that's coming from an Apple fan.

Number One Survival Stove

The CampStove 2+ is the most important item in my survival kitchen department. It is an excellant and quick way to start a fire and boil water. It is fun to use. I have watched many videos about it but nobody stresses its strongest point. No matter how long the power is out; days, weeks, or months, you will never be without a phone and communication if you have a Biolite campstove. I have and love several other stoves, but this is the ONLY one that keeps my phone charged, night or day, rain or shine. If i can start a fire then i can communicate, only hecause of Biolite. I think every home should have one, maybe two.
