It has a POCKET!
Since my husband love's the men's version I decided to start getting the women's. It's virtually the same, just cut for a woman and has a pocket-total score! These wear/wash/pack well and last long as well.

Pectoral fin pockets are a nope
What the He** pockets? After spraying on about how much I love my alpenglow hoodies to my wife, I bought two of these for my her for an upcoming adventure where all day sun pro will be paramount. Well, she hates them simply for the bulky pockets that protrude off the side like some sort of pectoral fin. I said "what pockets" only to find the women's has the aforementioned pectoral pockets for some unknown reason. Now we are scrambling for an alternative. Do women need pockets? Why mess with perfect?

Lightweight and Comfortable

Love at first wear
I just wore this hoodie for 4 days straight on a backpacking trip. Breathable, effective, wicking and dries quickly, and I love the cheery coral color. I'm officially obsessed.

Great sun shirt, but…
As far as sun shirts go (and I’ve been shopping extensively for them), these may be the best. The material has a honeycomb-like weave that makes it more durable than the typical sun shirt. I ordered a few for my husband. The only reason I’m docking a star is that the color Baja sunrise looked more red-orange on the website; in person it’s totally prison issue orange. And I don’t like the other colors in women’s, so I end up with no alpenglow shirts even though they’re the best. BD needs to expand the color range for the alpenglow!

Perfect sun hoody!
I own it in multiple colors and the fit is perfect! I ran an Ultra in Moab this past March and it kept me cool/dry and warm/comfortable when needed. I love the longer length, lightweight breathable fabric, elastic around the hood to keep it from blowing off your head. Excellent quality!! I can’t wait to add more colors to my collection.
