This top is hands-down one of the most versatile layers I’ve used. I wore it on cooler hikes and runs in the spring, and have taken it all my long hikes and climbs in the Tetons this summer. It’s warm in wind and chill, yet stays cool and breathable when temps are high and the sun is beating down. The thumb holes are great for sun coverage, and the zipper adds some nice ventilation. The hood is a great touch, and the underarm panels really help dump heat. A go-to piece for any adventure--Perfect as a standalone in variable conditions, or as part of a layering system in colder weather.

Excellent sun protection for high altitude climbing
Just the right amount of thickness and ventilation for full day sun exposure at high altitude. This is not the sun shirt I turn to for most summer multipitch climbing as it is far too warm/thick.

Best Technical shirt!
Been the Alpenglow Pro Hoody for every hike I’ve been on the last few months. It’s the best technical shirt I’ve ever owned and I’d recommend it to everyone to get at least one in the closet for use. Black diamond crushed it with this shirt. It’s held up to falls, rock abrasions, thorns, sharp leaves, you name it and the shirt has been rock solid. Some how this magical shirt is warm when it’s cold and windy, cool when it’s hot and muggy. It’s perfect for pretty much all conditions. The thumb holes are super nice for hiking poles and some hand coverage in the sun. The zipper is awesome for hotter days and doesn’t irritate or cause chafing that I’ve experienced on other base zippers. The hoody being stretchy and of the same material turns it into a AC for your head on while blocking the sun.

I wish I got an
I wish I got an xs. I’m always either a sm or xs. 5,6” 125, and the small is pretty loose, but okay. Otherwise it’s perfect. The perfect layer for running in 40-50 degree weather.

Love my Alpenglow Hoody!

Comfy and Cool
This is a very comfortable sun sweater. It was surprisingly cool for being a darker color, at least in 60 degree weather. I’ll see how it does when it gets hotter out. The hood is a great size for climbing. The finger holes are great for some hand coverage. The only thing I wish it had is some side pockets. Ordered another one in yellow.

The Perfect Adventure Sun Hoody!
This is going to be my new Go-To for Spring ski touring when it's just a little too warm for a shell but the high altitude requires a high level of sun protection! The zippered front and vented areas are strategically placed! The fit is great and the way the fabric lays is soft and comfortable without being clingy.

Dozens of pills after 1 day of use
I wore this hoody for the first time out climbing yesterday and when I got home noticed dozens of pulls in the fabric and even a small hole from one of them. This type of wear is expected after a whole season - but 1 day??? Bummer. Wish they used more durable fabrics. Maybe a good hiking/backpacking sun hoody, but doesnt hold up on rocks.
