These are the go to for all day comfort on big days tackling big routes where you’ll be encountering everything from technical face, thin cracks, delicate slabs and brutal offwidths. The fit is a little narrow in the toebox, but I wouldn’t call it a slim shoe. It’s just not wide. The size is true to shoe size for me. No need to size up or down. The high top design protects the ankles and stiff sole helps when heal toeing in the wide. The stiff sole also helps with thin edging, especially on older toes with tendinitis and arthritis form years of “experience”. The only con; The high top design funnels dirt and lichen into your shoe. Wish it were higher and able to lace tight around the ankle to keep debris out. An all around great shoe, comfortable and has taken the number 1 spot from its only worthy competitor, the TC Pro. Would definitely recommend.

My favorite all-around shoe

I like this shoe for everything from all-day alpine climbs to bouldering.

Tc pro killers

More comfortable, more sensitive, and better for thinner cracks than my TCs. Still plenty stiff for hard granite climbing. BDs new rubber climbs like c4.

They fall apart.

Poor build quality. I have climbed in dozens of shoes and have never had a shoe delaminate like this one. The rand rubber separates from the upper and the sole separates from the rand. After less than 20 pitches, the outsole was delaminating to the point where I had to stop climbing in them. After reaching out to BD, they called it "normal wear and tear". So heads up, 20 pitches might be the lifespan of this shoe, and they will consider that normal.

My TC pro replacement

I tried on tc pros but they didn’t fit my foot right, so I took a chance with these. Love them, heel is super comfortable, the laces dont losen at all. Did a sketchy trad route , shoes felt great the whole time

These climb a lot better than my TC Pros, albeit, more fitted.

Way better than expected!

Was on the fence about these shoes… absolute beaut of a purchase! Would 10/10 recommend to a friend. Super grippy, comfortable and feel quality! I ordered .5 up in size and was a perfect fit for me!

Great fit and performance

Have had these shoes over a year now and wanted to submit a review. The rubber is confident, the fit is comfortable, and the break in period wasn't too bad depending on how often you climb. Have gone through the range of single pitch routes, multi pitch routes, and a few alpine climbs and have really enjoyed the performance and feel especially on the longer days. This was my first BD shoe and I will certainly buy these again when current pair is retired. I would recommend trying them on as they were not my typical sizing from other brands.

I’ve been putting them through the wringer, through multi-hour climb sessions and I’m the only person who doesn’t have to take their shoes off. While there’s still an occasional shoe fart, they perform great, doing well with slab smearing and edging on every hold I’ve put them on. Can’t recommend enough! I do normally wear a 13-14 and went for a 13 in this which fit great!

I had to return and order a full size up. Actual size was close but far more scrunched in the toes than other brands. Sized up and feels perfect. Amazing grip
