Dawn Patrol 32L Backpack ready for full-day backcountry tours and technical pursuits

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"When I’m headed out for a bigger day, this is the pack I grab. The 32L size gives me room for extra layers, food, and glacier gear without feeling overbuilt. I really like the back-panel access for getting to buried items fast, and the insulated shoulder pocket is clutch on cold days to keep water or a radio within reach."

We trust the Black Diamond Dawn Patrol 32L Backpack when a dawn-to-dusk mission is on the horizon. Built with 100% recycled fabrics, this versatile pack strikes the balance between volume and agility, giving us the space to carry layers, food, avy gear, and climbing equipment for technical off-piste objectives without feeling cumbersome. The contoured suspension keeps the load secure and comfortable while we skin deep into the backcountry or move through technical alpine terrain.

The Dawn Patrol 32 shines in its thoughtful feature set. A dedicated avalanche safety pocket ensures fast access to our rescue kit, while a back-panel zipper makes it easy to reach layers or supplies buried in the main compartment. The oversized insulated shoulder pocket keeps hydration flowing in freezing temps or doubles as a stash for a soft flask or radio. With tuck-away ski and snowboard carry systems, plus external attachment points for helmet and piolets, this pack is purpose-built for long days in the mountains where preparedness and efficiency are key.

Solid pack. Happy with it!

Happy with my purchase. Bought it in 2024 for the winter season. Toured with it several times and into late spring/summer. Great pack. Happy with all the attachments. Every time I think, "Ohh I wish I could do this with it", it can. So I have found it rather versatile and solid. I would buy it again.
