The Black Diamond Deploy Down 0.5 Full Zip Hooded Jacket is the kind of layer we rely on. Built for climbers, alpinists, and fast-and-light mountain missions, this jacket provides critical warmth when weight and space are at a premium. Whether we're belaying on a windswept ledge or catching our breath during an alpine push, the Deploy is our go-to insulator that disappears in our pack until we need it most.
Weighing just 160 grams, this slim-fit layer is built with ultralight 4D ripstop nylon and filled with 1000-fill traceable goose down for unmatched warmth-to-weight performance. It features a helmet-compatible hood for alpine use, a full-zip design for quick layering, and an internal stow pocket with a carabiner loop so we can clip it and go.

Great lightweight layer
The fit is perfect and more durable than seems given how lightweight and fine denier fabric is used.

I am glad I pulled the trigger. Its a beautifully made puffer. Its crazy lightweight and it being a fill zip with warm pockets and a well stuffed hood, I have no doubt it will keep me warm. The down really expands out to fill the baffles just enough without adding extra weight. I usually wear a outer layer so I think the 4D will hold up well enough with a shell layer protecting the outer of the puffer. Its also much quieter than lots of other puffers, so thats a huge bonus I wasn't expecting. Overall stoked about it with limited use so far.

Fantastic and very packable
I love this jacket and how compact it becomes when packed. It is the perfect warm layer to have in your pack for those "just in case" moments or early morning starts. Best as a warm layer that is not expected to be used throughout the trip. The length and coverage are great. Love this jacket!

Excellent
Very lightweight. Just the right amount of insulation for warming up in cool conditions. Nice to have the full length zipper, hand warming pockets, and adjustable drawstring on the hood. Packs easily into its pocket. My only complaint is that it could pack tighter but I can solve that easily by packing it into a small stuff sack.

Bomber
As a guide in Colorado, weight and space matter. This hoody is what I’ve been waiting for in the backcountry. It stashes down in a pack and disappears. With the warmth and quality of it, makes me know it’s going to last. Slim fit and actual lining in the hand pockets for cold hand days. Thanks BD!! Bomber jacket.
