First Impressions of Recon Stretch Bib
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first impression putting these on was how easy it is to move in them. I can easily squat below parallel without the fabric pulling anywhere, same with taking a high step. I’ve got bigger thighs and these still had plenty of space. The chest area of the bibs fits more snug than I expected, that said with the stretch I can still easily fit a light mid layer top underneath if I want to. I like that these come with belt loops. With a belt I imagine I can unzip the chest, pull the suspenders off and wear them like pants on a hot day and high effort skin track. Then I can pull the chest back up for the descent. You can also regulate heat by just zipping down the chest and leaving the suspenders on, so there’s lots of ways to easily dump heat in these bibs. I noticed the reinforced areas around the leg cuffs for ski edges/crampons skuffs is a slightly smaller area than most other ski pants I own. I’ll report back with if that matters. The material of these is super comfortable against bare skin as well, so I won’t have any second thoughts about foregoing leggings underneath these when it’s not a cold day. I have a size large and I’m 72.5” and 196 lbs, 34” waist and 32” inseam, that’s definitely the right size for me. I’m looking forward to putting in some if days this winter backcountry skiing in Colorado in these! I’ll update my review after I’ve put these to the test. These bibs are the Bees Knees!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These bibs have me psyched for this upcoming winter! I can already tell these will be my go to's this snow season just off of the initial fit. I put these things on and i immediately noticed how well they move with my body, most 3L fabrics I've encountered are pretty restrictive and I felt like I could do Karate in these things if necessary. The upper portion of the bib is more form fitting while the legs are decently baggy allowing for a huge range of movement. The right thigh pocket has a tether that you can tie your beacon into as well as a holder inside the pocket to keep it in place. Has instep patches to keep from poking holes from pesky ski edges/crampons. The chest zip pockets are perfect size for stashing your phone+snacks/chap stick in there as well! Internal snow gaiters on the pant legs tie these together to give you a full featured bib for backcountry that comes with everything you need and nothing you dont. Initial Review: Thoughtfully designed comfy bibs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Preliminary Review – Black Diamond Recon Stretch Bibs Initial impressions from wearing around the house and outside—no ski days yet. Me: 5’7”, 150 lbs. These bibs are impressively comfortable. The fabric moves easily and has just the right amount of stretch. The fit through the legs and seat strikes a good balance between roomy and athletic—plenty of space for a base layer without feeling baggy. The chest area runs a bit snug compared to other bibs I’ve worn, not totally sure how I feel about it yet. The ventilation layout looks well thought-out—the deep outer thigh vents should dump heat efficiently on climbs or warmer days. Pocket design is excellent: the beacon pocket on the thigh includes a solid leash clip, and the chest pockets are well placed and likely to keep a phone warm. Overall, they feel like a well-designed, versatile touring and (spring) resort bib. I’ll update once I’ve had time on snow, but so far they’re promising.

Initial Impression - All mountain ski of bibs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My overall first impression is that these bibs sit right in the middle of the spectrum between deep-winter resort days and all-day spring tours. The design feels well-balanced — not overbuilt, but still structured and feature-rich enough to handle a wide range of conditions. The side zip is unique, featuring three zippers. I haven’t seen that before, and it allows both for adjustable venting and for the back flap to open easily. The right thigh pocket includes a leash and what appears to be an insulated, structured inner pocket. Since most beacons come with their own safety tether, I’ve just connected mine to the pocket loop, so I’m not sure I’ll use the included leash. I do wish there was another minimally structured pocket on the left thigh, as I usually keep my phone there and appreciate when it stays stable and doesn’t bounce around while touring. For fit reference, I’m 5'9" with an athletic build, and these bibs strike a great balance between being form-fitting and worried about tearing seams when I squat. Overall, the materials and features reflect design choices aimed at versatility and efficiency — not overly heavy or bulky, but clearly built to perform across variable mountain conditions.
