Rock Blitz 15 — The Little Pack That Could and Did

The Dipsea Trail from Stinson Beach up Mt. Tamalpais isn’t exactly a “let’s ease into it” hike — it’s a full-on stairway to the sky. Perfect proving ground for my brand-new Rock Blitz 15. This thing rides so light, I half expected to find it still hanging in my closet when I got home. The Blitz-style opening is a straight-up life hack — one tug, and I’m into my gear faster than you can say “where’s my snack?” The side zip pocket was my camera crew for the day, always ready for a quick shot when the ocean views tried to steal the show. Built with recycled fabrics tough enough to handle granite, brush, and the occasional over-ambitious bushwhack, it’s eco-friendly without being fragile. EVA-padded straps and back panel? Comfy enough to make me forget I was carrying my day’s survival kit… until I needed that windbreaker at the summit, and boom — top strap doubles as the perfect carry. It’s fast. It’s tough. It’s minimal. And it somehow manages to be all three without trying too hard. The Rock Blitz 15 isn’t just my pack now — it’s my alibi for moving quicker, climbing higher, and looking cooler while doing it. Small in size, massive in send.

Great little go light bag

Would have liked to see a few more MOLLE loops for gear. Otherwise completely satisfied

Works as advertised. My only complaint is that BD shipped it folded in half. Now there is a permanent crease in the straps and back support foam pad.

Hardy

Love how tough this little guy is. We have the 15L and was able to fit a double rack, harness, shoes & helmet in the bag (just barely) and rope on top. Very tight squeeze and not as comfortable as the 22 blitz pack similar to this which is their larger less durable alpine pack. Nevertheless it all fit! Very quality and durable build.

it is what it is. . . and that's good

this is a very simple pack. pretty much just a fabric sack with a roll top closure, but that's honestly what i want from a climbing pack. it's durable, and there are a few nice features, like a hidden back panel pocket for a phone/protein bar access while wearing. other than that it's big enough for lunch, layers, and water, which is all i want to take with me on a climb. i slung a rope on top easy enough for a longish red rocks approach. only nitpick is that i would probably like some daisy chains, but i can add those myself if i want. overall, great pack for the money.

I've used it several times

I bought it for multi pitch rock climbing and it works great. Very well thought out. Deep side pocket can hold all the stuff you want on route but don’t want to open the pack. Material is tough, it still looks basically new after a couple trips.

Perfect multipitch pack

It’s a tight fit but I can get all my sport gear, plus a layer, and some snacks. Secured the rope to the top of the bag. Super comfy to climb in. Sits high enough on my back I can still use my chalk bag. Used this on a 4 pitch multipitch and look forward to many more days climbing with this!

Quality pack

I ordered this pack for a Canyoneering trip and while on the smaller side it’s a great little pack that stands up to abuse and wears comfortably all day.

Streamlined simple pack.

Great streamlined climbing pack. Simple travel pack and I’ve even used it mountain biking. Sometimes I wish it had a water bladder sleeve and maybe even a daisy attachment on the outside of the pack. The plastic tubing in the drawstring ended up coming out of the material. Still able to use it but just not as quick to get my finger in there to pull it shut.

Great gear!!!

Another great pack by black diamond. This one is made for quick excursions, and it feels bigger than you'd think. It feels closer to 20l, and quite durable. A nice little pack, I would definitely recommend it!!
