Great shoe. Awesome redesign.
So, I work outside doing lawn and landscaping work. For years I wore steel-toed boots, but they aren’t necessary for 90%. the time. They definitely contribute to plantar fasciitis and that had become a major problem. Fast forward through at least four pair of Cascadia 18’s and now these come out. I always had to wear a pair of insoles with the 18’s because you had to order a full size up (due to the goretex) and they really weren’t Brooks comfortable to begin with. With this pair of GTX 19’s, they answered all my beefs and more. They come in half sizes. Check. They are LEAGUES more comfortable. Check. And, they significantly changed the appearance and I like it. There’s really nothing to complain about. The traction in these is awesome, and I can spray them down too to bottom without my feet getting soaked. Wet grass is nothing for them. They wear out kind of fast, but I can’t complain since I’m using them for a purpose well outside what they were designed for. (Like walking up and down an expanded metal gate 20 times a day) By the way, when I bought these, they weren’t even available on the Brooks website yet. I got them from Dick’s sporting goods. I deliberately looked for the 19’s because I kept noticing the 18’s on a significant sale.

Trail Runner - solid shoe with great grip
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been running for years and age combined with hard surfaces has caught up with me resulting in 2 fused vertebrae so it's critical I have the right running shoe. I tell people in my situation to do their research, not all shoes are made the same, not all brands are equal. Some brands have features that don't seem that important in the beginning but will be critical later on, especially if you stick to running on dirt trails over cement. Comfort, cushion, weight & and grip are important features for trail running. Don't overlook grip; slipping on uneven surfaces or loose gravel can cause issues. I got a pair of these Brooks Cascadia 19 GTX and have been running in them for a few weeks, I run 4 to 5 times a week so my shoes get a good work out. The first thing you will notice out of the box is the comfort, they seemed a little stiff at first but that goes away quickly. They are light with great cushion. The highlight of these shoes won't occur until your out on a trail - the treads are rugged but not heavy on the feet. I have had no issues running on uneven terrain and no slipping on lose dirt or gravel. I haven't had the opportunity to use them in the rain but suspect they will grip well in light mud. They have great grip combined with ground feel so you feel connected to the ground while running. Great shoe, especially for trials. Pros - lots of them. I focus on function over all else, but I have to say these are darn good looking shoes. Cons - not many. They are not cheap but you get quality. I felt like they ran a bit small. I'll get many miles out of these without the sore back. Very solid shoe. Happy Trails!

Trail Beast with Waterproof coverage!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Men’s Cascadia 19 GTX is everything I want in a trail running shoe — durable, comfortable, and weatherproof. The Gore-Tex upper is a game changer. I’ve powered through rain, mud, and even shallow streams without a second thought. My feet stayed dry, warm, and blister-free. What really stands out is the stability and grip. Whether I’m cruising downhill or navigating rocky switchbacks, the traction feels solid and dependable. The cushioning strikes the perfect balance — soft enough for long miles but firm enough for technical terrain. Also worth mentioning: they broke in fast. No awkward rubbing, no pressure points. Just lace up and go. If you’re looking for a waterproof trail runner that feels secure, supportive, and built for all-season adventures, the Cascadia 19 GTX is the one. Highly recommend to any serious trail runner or hiker who doesn’t let bad weather slow them down.

Perfect Fit and Cloud-Like Comfort
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received the men's Cascadia 19 GTX shoes(size 8.5), and these things are like strapping little clouds to my feet. Perfect fit, zero break-in needed, and every step feels like a soft high-five for my toes. I've even taken them for a spin on my scooter- still comfortable, still solid, no weird rubbing or slipping. They are a little on the bulky side, but honestly, when the shoe feels this good, who cares? They're built tough, the material screams quality, and the color scheme goes well with pretty much anything. These are a win all the way around.

Big time improvement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not a fan of the 18s, but these, with the updated outsole, have been a delight. I thought the 18s felt like a brick or a block was just strapped to the bottom of my foot and it would twist around my foot if I landed on a rock funny. These have slightly more cushion, not too squishy for sure, and that helps my foot mesh and sink into the shoes so much better. This gives me more control on very technical trails and hikes. It helps me have more confidence in runs and doesn’t hurt my ankles since it doesn’t twist around my foot. I wear them trail running and hiking predominantly, but I took them fishing the other day, and they worked great for that too! The gtx doesn’t make them hot, but it did great keeping my feet dry running through puddles, mud, and wet grass. I’ve never thought I’d want gtx and I’ve tried some shoes with it, but these helped me see how great it can be! The laces and upper work as they should. Breathable upper and the laces don’t come untied on runs. I’d use these for a trail race, ultra, hiking, camping, pretty much anything in the woods. Very versatile shoes! But my favorite part is the increased cushion compared to the previous iteration. Something I’d change would be adding a heel loop to help slip them on, but everything else works great!

Great shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are a great shoe, I’ve had them for a few weeks now and I use them often. The grip and traction is really good with great lacing lock to keep your feet locked in. My feet don’t slide around in them at all. This is my second pair of Brooks and I have only good things to say about them! These have a mesh that breaths and excellent padding in all the right places. I appreciate the neutral black and white for flexible use. I’ve put a good amount of miles in these and they hold up well, the traction is excellent on all terrain types. They support my feet and absorb well. I work construction so the last thing I want in an after work shoe is an unsupported sole but these are great. Overall loves these, no downside. They’re definitely a permanent part of my rotation.

Super Men's Cascadia 19 GTX
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband’s been wearing the Cascadia 19 GTX for a while, and the fit is spot on—no rubbing, no pressure points, no break-in needed. He went straight onto a rocky trail the first day and had zero issues. The heel stays secure, the toe box has room without feeling loose, and the shoes feel stable and comfortable without being bulky. Out of all the Brooks models we’ve tried, this one tops them for comfort. The design is practical yet stylish, with a deep tread that grips well on rocks and mud. It looks like a serious trail shoe but still has a clean, appealing look. We especially appreciated that the foxing (the strip near the midsole) isn’t bright white but a cream-brown color, which means wear and tear will not ruin the appearance over time. The Gore-Tex fabric keeps water out completely—he’s gone through puddles and wet grass with dry feet every time. The only drawback is that his feet sweat a little on warm days, not enough to cause blisters but noticeable. A bit more breathability in the upper would be the one thing I’d change, though it’s a small trade-off considering the overall comfort, support, and durability. These shoes are reliable and holding up strong even with daily wear. They deliver both performance and appearance, which is rare. Bottom line: the Cascadia 19 GTX is a smart pick for anyone who needs gear that works hard and still looks good.

Fantastic All-Around Running Shoe – Supportive, Stylish, and Durable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been really impressed with the Brooks Cascadia 19 GTX. Right out of the box, I loved the style — sleek enough to wear out running errands, yet rugged enough for my training runs. The design strikes that rare balance between function and everyday wearability. From a performance standpoint, these shoes delivered exactly what I needed. I used them on both pavement and dirt trails, and they felt equally supportive across surfaces. The cushioning is excellent — enough to absorb impact on longer runs without feeling bulky — and I noticed the difference in how much better my knees felt afterward. The upper fabric feels high-quality and durable, with just the right amount of structure to keep my feet supported, even on uneven terrain. The GTX version also held up well in wet conditions, keeping my feet dry without overheating. Overall, the Cascadia 19 GTX is a well-designed, versatile shoe that supports my training needs and looks great while doing it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a trail shoe that performs well and doesn’t compromise on comfort or style.

Amazing outdoor prof running shoes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love these shoes. Brooks is always my go to brand for comfort and I’ve always wanted an option for when I’m out hiking or running in the rain. These shoes fit the bill to a tee. They are true to size and like most Brooks are super comfy. I love that they are waterproof so I can feel comfortable wearing them out in the rain and I love the look and design. I wouldn’t wear these casually as the waterproof aspect does prevent some ventilation from getting in, but I’d defo keep these in my rotation for rainy days, trail hikes, or camping adventures. Overall a great pair of shoes.

Cascadia 19 GTX : A trailblazer for Portland's Summer Trails.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Cascadia 19 GTX is an exceptional hiking shoe that delivers outstanding support and comfort—perfectly suited for Portland’s summer trails. Portland in July offers warm, dry, and sunny conditions, and only occasional rainfall. These conditions make it an ideal time for hiking in local hiking trails like in areas like Forest Park, the Columbia River Gorge, or Mount Tabor. But even with mostly dry weather, sudden changes can occur in our area, and that’s where the Cascadia 19 GTX shines. The shoe features an innovative Trail Adapt system, built for durability and stability. Its rugged outsole rubber provides excellent traction, whether you're trekking on dry gravel or navigating a surprise summer shower. The integrated flexible rock plate adds a protective layer in the sole, enhancing stability on uneven terrain—something I truly value after past slips on wet trails. The GORE-TEX upper, bonded seamlessly with the shoe, makes it both breathable and waterproof—a must-have for Portland’s unpredictable microclimates. Brooks’ signature DNA Loft v3 cushioning—a blend of foam, rubber, and air—offers plush comfort and responsive support, especially in the midsole. It’s noticeably soft and supportive, making long hikes feel effortless. Despite its rugged build, the Cascadia 19 GTX is lightweight and flexible, making it a joy to wear on both urban trails and backcountry adventures. Having said all the good things about the shoe If am going to nitpick the only thing is that I am not a fan of the color scheme of my pair. It was more appealing in the picture than in person. In summary, this shoe is a reliable companion for Portland’s summer hikes. It handles both dry and damp conditions with ease, offers excellent traction, and keeps your feet comfortable and protected all day long.
