Glycerin 22 Wide Running Shoe delivers plush nitrogen-infused cushioning with a wide, stable fit

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This version of the Glycerin is seriously soft. The nitrogen-infused midsole feels super plush on long runs, but it doesn’t lose that bounce. The wide fit gives my feet room to breathe without feeling sloppy—perfect for recovery days or big mileage."

The Brooks Glycerin 22 Wide Running Shoe levels up the long-run experience with next-level softness and a roomy fit designed for ultimate comfort. At the heart of the ride is Brooks’ DNA LOFT v3 cushioning—nitrogen-infused and tuned to deliver plush landings and energized toe-offs without compromising on stability or weight.

With a breathable upper made from 61% recycled materials and an accommodating fit through the forefoot, the Glycerin 22 Wide offers a dialed-in feel for runners who need a little more space. From easy miles to high-volume weeks, this road runner delivers a smooth, reliable ride every step of the way.

Here's what customers have to say

The shoes provide excellent cushioning and support, with a comfortable and responsive feel. However, some users found the updated design changes, such as increased heel cushioning and a narrower toe box, less comfortable compared to previous models. While generally well-received, the shoes may not suit everyone's preferences, so trying them on is recommended.

The fabric is hard and the shoe had a tighter fit in the toes. It wasn't as comfortable as previous models.

Buckling/denting.

As a bedside nurse, Glycerins have been my go-to’s since 2017. The 22’s have been such a disappointment. The toe boxes began buckling/denting with movement. The inner left toe dent is rubbing against my toe causing sharp pain. I’ve given them 3 weeks to see if they’ll break in and the buckling remains the same. So disappointing. Anyone have any recs (brooks or other good athletic shoe brands) similar to the comfort of prior Glycerins? Thanks in advance!

Here we go again!

Been wearing the glycerin for many years. I needed an upgrade. They are perfect.

Twice as Nice!

I didn't think the fit on Glycerin needed improvement, but as soon as I put them on, I could tell the difference! My feet were so pleased, I bought another pair in a different color!

High cushion

Highly cushioned. Causes a lot of supination. Toe fatigue after 12hr wearing.

Not neutral

It said neutral support and yet the is an arch support in the shoe.

Purchased after my Glycerin 20's reached their max mileage. Same great cushion, but I feel this version has shorter laces. I always do a Runner's Knot to combat heel slipping and these laces feel short. I like the reflective details of the laces, but I think I might have to swap them out.

Comfort and support

This is my 3rd or 4th pair of Glycerin 22. My job requires standing for long periods of time. By the end of the day, my feet don’t hurt, my legs don’t hurt and I’m a happy nurse! They provide Plenty of cushion as well as support. The Glycerin 22 feels like a cloud and they are very light weight.

Disappointed in the fit compared to the original Ghost series. As a physician who loved the ghost 15, these are killing my feet, they are way too narrow (the regular ghost 15 was perfect but they stopped selling them and remade the ghost). These are giving my feet calluses and crushing them and causing raybauds sadly
