Hyperion Max 3 Running Shoe delivers max-speed energy return and rapid transitions for daily training

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I grab the Hyperion Max 3 when I want to feel fast—even on a tough training day. It’s super light, crazy responsive, and the rocker geometry helps me stay quick on turnover. The SpeedVault plate and DNA cushioning give it a race-day feel without sacrificing comfort."

When we want our daily training miles to feel like race day, we lace up the Brooks Hyperion Max 3 Running Shoe. Designed for speed-focused athletes, this high-stack shoe features the best of Brooks’ energy return tech, so we can push harder, recover faster, and stay on pace whether we’re doing tempo work or long intervals.

A responsive combo of 100% PEBA DNA GOLD and DNA FLASH v2 cushioning provides lightweight propulsion and soft landings, while the SpeedVault plate amplifies toe-off for snappy forward motion. The RapidRoll Rocker makes transitions fast and efficient, and the lightweight mesh upper locks down the foot without overheating. Here's what customers have to say

Here is the refined product review summary: The shoes offer excellent cushioning and responsiveness, providing a "bouncy" and "cloud-like" underfoot feel with great energy return. The lightweight, breathable upper and snug, sock-like fit offer good comfort and heel lockdown. However, some users found the shoes to be heavier and clunkier than the previous model, with a restrictive toe box and stability issues. The transition and ride of the shoe also received mixed feedback. Overall, the shoes work well for some runners but may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with wider feet or stability concerns.

Very solid shoe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Over great responsiveness, soft feel. Rolls good from initial contact to toe off. Fits snug around foot without slipping. Comfortable for long run speed work and track workouts.

After using Brooks for the last 10 years;. Sole came put in less than a year or 100miles, these are the worst running shoes I've had.

Greast new flashy, bouncy, speedy shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the foam and the responsive bounciness of this shoe. They feel peppy and quick when you need to up the tempo. The bright color for the mens style is great, but I would love to see additional flashy color options for the womens.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first super trainer I ever bought and it delivered. I felt much faster doing long and shorts due to the carbon plate. Cushioning was consistent too. Only real complaints are the padding on the tongue and a slightly restrictive toe box. However, I feel that I got my money’s worth and then some.

Bring back the Max II

Heavy and hot. Not sure if I’m keeping them. I really loved my Hyperion Max II and am honestly a little disappointed in these.

Feel great to run in, bouncy but firm enough to be supportive and very comfortable for 5-10 mile runs

Solid trainer

Fits a little snug. Feels very bouncy. Have only used it for road runs so far, sure it would be fine for treadmill also. Very light, mesh on the top, so it’s nice for Texas heat. Just wish it came in more colors, mostly neutral. I don’t wear colors a lot, though I do like the orange/coral.

I loved the Hyperion Max 1 & 2, this version seems to be going in a different direction. Max 3 is much heavier and felt awkward and very clunky. I feel unstable while running and unable to get comfortable at any pace. The upper was very tight and the heel fit is harsh and protrudes into your Achilles. I have run in Brooks for 20 years and never had blisters or soreness in my feet until the Max 3.

Outsole not substantial, too much tongue,

Bout these about a month ago and have put 200km into them. On the good side, the new sock like opening is exceptional, giving good heel lock. A real upgrade. The midsole is also very responsive. However, the outsole has already worn through in places after only 200km. The new laces are terrible and too short. There is way too much material in the tongue which means it all gathers up under the laces. Couldn't recommend.
