Hydrobak Light 50oz keeps hydration simple on short rides and warm-weather spins
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I always grab the Hydrobak Light for quick trail loops or lunchtime rides. It’s low-profile, doesn’t bounce, and carries just enough water and tools without overpacking. You forget it’s even there—until you're glad it is.
" When we’re heading out for a short trail ride or a quick spin around town, we don’t need to bring the whole gear garage with us. That’s where the CamelBak Hydrobak Light 50oz shines. Built for minimalist efficiency, this slim pack carries just enough water to stay hydrated for 1–2 hour rides while still leaving us feeling light, fast, and free on the pedals.
The included 1.5-liter Crux reservoir delivers a high flow rate with every sip, and the pack’s breathable Air Support™ back panel keeps things cool during hot-weather climbs. A secure zip pocket lets us stash keys or a multi-tool, and the streamlined fit ensures it stays put even when we’re riding fast or out of the saddle. It’s a grab-and-go essential for riders who like to keep things simple.

The only thing I’m struggling
The only thing I’m struggling with is the taste I get from it. I’ve washed the water reservoir, so I’m thinking it’s from the tubing. Hopefully it will go away.

Camelbak has always created the best in water packs. I still rock the mule form the past because it rules. Siked for a smaller pack. I use this hydropak for skiing and it fits under my jacket perfectly! Let it snow❄️

Compared to previous models, accessing
Compared to previous models, accessing the bladder on this Hydrobak is difficult to say the least. Once you unzip the bladder access area, you them have to detach the retention strap then pull the bladder out of the bladder area far enough to unscrew the lid. Once you've filled the bladder, you then screw the cap back on, push the bladder back into the storage area and reattach the retention strap to keep the bladder from falling into the bottom of the bladder compartment. Don't even think about trying to quickly refill the Hydrobak at an aid station during a race - it isn't happening. Overall, another example of what can happen when someone over-engineers a product that works fine as-is.
