Why We Like The Chaco Rapid Pro Toe-Loop Sandal

Tested by raft guides and athletes for optimal performance, the Chaco Rapid Pro Toe-Loop Sandal lives on the water. The upper's pared-down buckle and the heel riser's 30-percent increase in nylon boost comfort and durability when we're stabilizing in whitewater. Slick foot braces don't get the best of us with this sandal's sticky Vibram Megagrip sole optimizing its wet-surface traction: The Biting Edges at the toe and heel grip relentlessly, the grooved lateral lugs increase grab points, and the micro-siped center lugs disperse water for increased contact surface, while a wrap of forefoot rubber minimizes wear.

Better without the toe strap

The sole is durable and comfortable but the toe loop makes them hard to put on and becomes progressively tighter while walking until it's mildly uncomfortable and hard to get off

Great water adventure sandal!

They're really great for the adventures I've been on in them. I do wish the straps were a little longer though, they're shorter than my other chacos

Stuck strap

I got a strap that is stuck and won't budge. I'm worried I'm going to damage it if I pull any harder.

Great for the farm

Great for all of my outdoor activities, especially for working beef cows (just don't get stepped on). I cannot recommend open toe shoes for farm chores, but they will do it.

Bunions baby? Get Chacos Z/2 MENS and get back to

I hope Chacos never stip making this sandal. I am a woman with big feet and bunions. These are THE ONLY shoes that hold my big toe in place and keep it in the joint. They are phenomenal for improving balance. They are the only shoe made that keeps the bog toe from collapsing into the second toe. And because of that I am now back to power walking AND without pain. THANK YOU Chacos for a phenomenal shoe. By the way, I prefer the men’s shoe for width, and better build and durability.

Rapid Pro - Awesome so far!

I’ve owned these Rapid Pros for a little over a month now. I figured I’ve got around 30 miles of walking in them and some off-road and paddleboarding adventures. So far, it appears they are holding up great. In August I’ll be trying them out fly fishing and wet wading some rivers in Colorado. At this point in the ownership of these Chacos, I would highly recommend purchasing this model. Also to note, I was prior to purchasing these a big fan of the ZVolv 2 Chacos. Now I believe I have found my new favorite. Hopefully, they’ll come out with some new colors

Comfortable and river ready!!

Chacos have always been nice, but these new ones are the best I have tried so far.

Durable and good performer, but flawed

First, what this sandal does well: It's easy to adjust it to achieve a secure fit, movement and grip are great on all surfaces you'd even want to think of wearing sandals, and it's proven durable -- five star ratings for all of these specific traits. However, the toe strap tightens a lot. I need to adjust mine every time I wear them -- or even on the same hike if it's long enough. Constantly making the same adjustments to your footwear shouldn't be a thing, minus a full star just for that. Also, these things are ridiculously heavy. The excessive length of the adjustment strap is also a nuisance, but ultimately not nearly as big a deal as the toe tightening and weight. I also own the Z/1 and Bodhi. The Z/2 provides more secure footing than those other options, particularly on steep or rough terrain as well as in water. That said, I won't buy the Z/2 again -- the toe loop issue in combination of the excessive weight is too big a deal for me.
