WeatherMaster 6-Person Tent adds a screened porch and rain-ready features for family camping

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve used the WeatherMaster 6 on family camping trips, and the screen room is a total game-changer—perfect for bug-free meals or lounging. Setup is surprisingly easy for the size, and the hinged door is great when you're coming in and out a lot. It’s spacious, weather-resistant, and perfect for group car camping."

When we're setting up basecamp for a weekend with friends or family, the Coleman WeatherMaster 6-Person Tent with Screen Room gives us the space, protection, and comfort we need to stay outside longer. Its modified dome design delivers a spacious interior with room for two queen-sized airbeds, while the 6'8" center height means we can move around without hunching. But the real highlight? A screened-in room for bug-free lounging, gear storage, or just soaking up the view.

Coleman’s reliable WeatherTec™ system uses welded corners and inverted seams to keep water out, and the tent’s strong frame is wind-tested to 35 mph for peace of mind in unpredictable weather. Features like a hinged door, angled windows, built-in gear pockets, and an e-port for power access make this tent feel like a true outdoor home base. The included expandable carry bag makes packing up just as easy as the 20-minute setup.

Great price for the size

My mom and dad purchased this tent when I was younger and it was a great size for a four person family and even one dog. So much space for all our suitcases shoes and we even had an extra kid in there!

Ten years and still going

Bought this tent on sale ten years ago and it's still going strong. I've had it out in all kinds of weather except snow. It doesn't get as hot as some tents do in 90+, probably due to the large windows and the screen house. We stayed in it during a storm with winds strong enough it knocked chairs over, and the tent stayed up and dry. I applied waterproofing right after I first got it ten years ago and haven't had any leaking. It's large enough that my tall husband doesn't have to stoop, it comfortably holds us and our three dogs, even during rain where we are cooped up. Setup is possible in about 25 minutes with one person, but goes much faster and easier with 2 or more. At ten years old, I've never had to make any repairs in the material or screen. The elastic in the poles is just now starting to get loose, so we'll probably replace the elastic this year

Roomy and keeps bugs out with lots of light

The Coleman weather master 6 person tent is great for camping with a larger family. It has a screened in room perfect for keeping mosquitoes out. Its assembly didn’t take too long and as long as you follow the directions, even my two little girls helped put it together. This is great for even just a little back yard sleepovers.

Big enough for the family

It's our second summer in the weather master 6. It's held up well, easy to put up and tear down. Has plenty of space for the kids ato run around. The screened off area is a life saver when camping by the lake! This tent has great airflow and fits two queen sized air mattress.

Love the layout… But it leaks!!

Thought this as a family tent for car camping. It’s really spacious, sets up pretty easily. Takes us about 10 minutes to set up with me and my husband. The one really big bummer that we were very disappointed about is that it leaked a ton of rain in. The first time we used it, there was about five hours of rain in the morning, only light to medium showers. But I would say at least a cup of water leaked in. It was dripping from all over the window seems. We will be trying to return it to get something that is truly waterproof. If you aren’t camping in the rain, this is a great tent.

Good

I recently used the Coleman WeatherMaster tent on a weekend family camping trip, and it was honestly amazing! The interior space is huge — we fit two queen air mattresses with room to spare. The high ceiling made it feel open and comfortable, especially for taller people. One of my favorite features is the screen room. It’s perfect for relaxing without bugs, and we used it to store shoes and gear without dragging dirt into the sleeping area. Also, the hinged door was super convenient — no more fumbling with zippers every time you go in and out! Setup was pretty easy after watching a quick video, but keep in mind the tent is heavy and bulky — definitely best for car camping. It handled light rain well, though I’d recommend using a tarp or waterproof spray if you expect bad weather.

Disappointing Quality.

Received this as a wedding present in 2022. Finally got to use it this year! It was brand need fresh out of the box. Took it camping and it poured down rain that evening. The inside walls of the tent were soaked and the floor was soaked water was everywhere. The water leaked into the tent from the seams of the windows. I was really looking forward to using this tent but I think I’m going to have to buy a new one. Very disappointed with the quality of the tent.

Perfect but Not for all Weather

Good set-up NOT for wet and/or cold weather. This tent is perfect for camping over 50 F, mist rain ok, heavy rain bad. Super confortable large room fits great two Full size mattress leaving room for lugage and walk, two queen size beds will fit but will be quite tight for walk inside or place your lugage. Easy set-up after couple times ~10 min with two people, ~30 min if yourself. Do not forget your tarp 10x20 under-need.

Spacious, weatherproof, and perfect for family cam

We used the WeatherMaster 6-Person Tent on a recent family camping trip and it exceeded our expectations. The ventilation is excellent even in warm weather, and the screen room was perfect for relaxing without bugs. Assembly took about 20–30 minutes with two people and the instructions were clear. It held up well during a night of heavy rain—no leaks at all. The materials feel durable and sturdy, and there’s plenty of space inside, even with gear. Portability is decent for a large tent, though it’s a bit heavy for solo hikers.
