Arctic Crest Down Hooded Jacket delivers packable warmth and alpine protection in a technical down layer

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I brought the Arctic Crest on a snowshoe trip in the Tetons and it kept me perfectly warm without overheating. It packs down small, holds heat well, and the Omni-HEAT lining really does make a difference in how quickly you warm up after stopping."

Built to chase peaks and handle plunging temperatures, the Arctic Crest Down Hooded Jacket is our go-to for insulated performance in alpine environments. With 700-fill power RDS-certified goose down and Columbia’s Omni-HEAT™ Arctic thermal-reflective lining, this jacket traps body heat efficiently without adding bulk. Omni-SHIELD™ repellency adds a protective barrier against light snow and moisture, while the down-insulated hood and cuff binding help seal in warmth.

It’s designed for real mountain functionality—lightweight and packable for backcountry travel, yet warm enough for long summit rests or brisk transitions. The adjustable hem dials in a secure fit, and zippered pockets keep gear close at hand. Whether you're belaying below an ice route or taking in a frosty ridgeline view, this jacket offers a smart blend of warmth, mobility, and tech-driven design.

Awesome Jacket!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome jacket, the fit is just right and the quality is immaculate and competes with the high end brands! It’s sneaky upon look you think how is this going to keep me warm in the cold for how light it is but it does!

Light weight and comfortable

I bought this jacket size XL in February 2025, and it fits great. I stand 6' and 226 pounds, and it is very light in weight and comfortable. As far as warmth, I haven't had the chance to take it to Mt. Charleston to give it a rating. However, I will be going there this weekend when the lows are in the 20's. I will give an update upon my return.

Should not be labeled as a "warmest" jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is really a nice jacket, so I hate to ding it 2 stars. However, I rated it only 3 stars because I believe it is mislabeled as the warmest jacket when it should have been labeled as warmer, and touting it as 800 down is very misleading, given the thinness of the down in the jacket. Although there is 800 down in the jacket, there just isn't enough of it to place this jacket in the warmest category. It doesn't seem like a true puffer jacket. Stated another way, this jacket alone will keep you warm in mid 30 degree sunny with no wind weather. When the sun goes down, the wind goes up, or you go in the shade, you will be cold. So, you definitely need another layer under this jacket for really cold weather. Nevertheless, it's a nice jacket so I decided to keep it and wear a hoodie under it on colder days.

Light packable and warm. Supricing jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When i recieved this jacket my first judgement is, its too light and thin to hold up in cold weather and im thinking about returning it. But thats not the case when i wear it. Im surprised about its performance I cant explain how this thin jacket is holding up below 20f weather. Its light and packable and warm at the same time. Im satisfied with this jacket

Very poor quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the jacket is not white, a very thin layer, the fluff shines through and the jacket looks dirty, especially everything shines through at the seams, in some places there is no filling at all
