Why We Like The Danner Trail 2650 Hiking Shoe

The Danner Trail 2650 Hiking Shoe was inspired by the demanding and rugged terrain found on the 2650-mile Pacific Crest Trail, but you don't have to quit your job and live in a tent for a few months to enjoy the durability and comfort of this versatile hiking shoe. Enjoy the trails closer to home with a Vibram 460 outsole, which incorporates self-adapting lugs and Vibram's special Megagrip compound for dependable grip on everything from muddy footbridges to rocky summits. An EVA midsole and Ortholite footbed give underfoot cushioning for long dawn-to-dusk days, and a TPU midfoot shank also offers added support and underfoot protection on rugged trails. It has a special reinforced heel counter to help keep your foot in its proper place, while the leather and textile upper gives the perfect balance of durability, breathability, and style.

Repeat Buyer is the best compliment.

My first pair lasted 4 years and are still going. Perfect balance of weight to performance. Sturdy but flexible to satisfy most any need.

So Comfortable!

At 65 years old and on my feet all day every day these are the most comfortable daily shoes I have ever owned. I'll be buying another pair...

Just got these!

I’ve eyeballed these for quite a while and finally got a pair. Glad I did. They don’t seem to need much if any breaking in. Super lightweight. Nice suede. Rubber on the toe where I always seem to abuse shoes. Glad I got them.

The Danner Trail 2650

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I now have 4 different versions of Trail 2650, why would you buy 4 pair? I have prescription (aversive high Arch) orthotics and this about the only shoe that I can also retain the existing inner sole without feeling too tight on my upper foot. I do a lot of hiking and they have great support and good traction. When I find shoes that work well I buy 2 or more pairs pin different colors, they last longer and you never know when they change or dis-continue the model.

No break-in period needed

Bought these for shorter hikes. Very comfortable out the box. No real break-in period needed. Very happy with the purchase.

Nice as a casual shoe.

The shoe looks nice and is comfortable. However, it’s not very good for hiking. Well, the soul is good, the support is not. I returned it to get a mid-height boot instead. Also, the width was not good for me. Normally a D would be fine, but in this case, I probably needed EE. Well, it’s a good shoe and looks nice for casual wear, if you’re an active hiker, probably it will not be good for you.

Great Trail Shoes

This is my second pair Danner 2650 trial shoes. Same style and color. I use my others for yardwork around my home. They’re still holding up well as I’ve owned them for 5 years. Just wanted another pair to wear casually. They’re very comfortable and stylish.

I have a few pairs of these and wear them most days. I am on my feet a good portion of the day as a home inspector and these shoes perform well. Good durability, breathable and agile. These shoes run true to size or a bit small.
