Tigard 130 Boot powers aggressive descents with alpine control and touring freedom
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I used the Tigard 130 for a hut trip and couldn’t believe the blend of power and uphill agility. The Hoji Lock system is buttery smooth for transitions, and it skis like a true alpine boot—stiff, precise, and super locked in on the descent."
We chase fresh lines with full confidence in the Dynafit Tigard 130 Boot—engineered for skiers who demand uncompromising downhill performance without giving up the freedom to tour deep into the backcountry. Built to handle anything from open bowls to tight chutes, the Tigard’s alpine-style construction meets touring functionality for a boot that’s just as capable on resort laps as it is miles from the trailhead.
The heart of this boot is the patented Hoji Lock system, connecting cuff and shell into one unified unit that locks out play and delivers alpine-like responsiveness at a featherweight 1550 grams. Paired with a progressive 130 flex, a 101mm last, and a stiff carbon-reinforced Grilamid shell, the Tigard carves, charges, and drops like a boot twice its weight. On the skintrack, 70 degrees of cuff rotation and an easy-entry overlap design make long ascents efficient and surprisingly comfortable.

YMMV but I love these boots
Another reviewer complained about the durability of this boot and posted some pics that he said were taken after just four days of use. For comparison, I thought I’d post some pics of my own boots after 120 days of use (admittedly about 90% downhill). Like others, I chose the Tigard 130 primarily because of the Hoji lock system. It’s fantastic. And in my opinion the boot is exceptionally well made, as well as being easy to work with from a bootfitting perspective.

Great concept. Poor durability.
The walk mechanism is amazing and the boots feel incredible on the downhill. Sadly the Grilamid appears to be incredibly soft and is completely chewed at the heel and toe, after only 4 days of skiing. Would not recommend these for freeride, unless you ski tech bindings all the time.

Sweet "do-everything" Option
I got these boots specifically because of the Hoji Lock system being introduced to a full on hybrid boot with gripwalk. The flex is pretty dang solid, so I am comfortable using these as a 50/50 boot in and out of the resort. The thing I was blown away by was the functionality of the walk mode. It's so nice that the power strap and both upper buckles are connected to the walk mode lever. The interface of the liner tongue and the overlapping shell is really nice, too. They're relatively easy to get into and quite comfortable liner-wise. My last is around a 103-104mm and I did need to punch them right at the "6th toe." My boot fitter mentioned the plastic being exceptionally easy to work with and I am quite pleased with the fit post molding. I did not mold the liner, as it seems fairly easy to break in over the course of a couple of ski tours. I'm very pleased with the uphill performance of this boot in particular. They also skied quite nicely.

Two days later :)
Love the boot so far. Range for walking seems huge. Boot fit perfect right out of the box. Probably gonna termo fit the liners. Was little worried the heal area was a bit wide and roomy but after the first day it seems to be just right on now. The grip walk is spot on!! Feels very solid. :)

Life is mountains not beach
I've skied with various Dynafit models throughout the years, first ones dating all the way back to the 80s, 3F Comps. Since Vulcan I've been looking for a Dynafit boot that would tick all the boxes, i.e. being light enough going up but robust and responsive coming down. Hoji free 130 and Radical Pro are great boots but wasn't happy with the liners and for longer trips or steeper decent had to swap them for more comfier ones (due to couple of ankle surgeries:)). With Tigard 130 Dynafit hit the sweetspot and I now have a "do it all boot"
