Road Handlebar Tape

Skimping on some things may go off without a hitch: we likely can’t taste the difference in generic versus name-brand almond milk. However, skimping out on touch points on a bike is a sure way to end a ride cursing our past selves. ENVE’s Road Handlebar Tape provides 3mm of soft comfort to keep hands and bodies content over pavement and off-road miles. Many bar tapes become slippery when wet, making us even more aware of the increasing precipitation or soaring temps, ENVE’s tape maintains its grippy finish when wet, so we can keep a secure and comfortable grip on the bars for that last descent.

Used to be awesome...

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I've been using this tape for years, and absoltely loved it. It's easy to install, and provides a nice amount of cushioning. And in the past, the surface of the tape had some texture to it, which was really helpful when things got sweaty. Unfortunately, the last couple of rolls have lacked this texture. Instead, it's a smooth (almost slick) rubbery feel that just isn't what I want in bar tape! Keeping fingers crossed it was just a bad batch...

My fav bar tape

Familiarity:

I'm kinda picky about my bar tape. I had settled on the Lizard Skin 3.2 for several years until I found the Enve tape. It's now on all my bikes. Highly recommend!

Breaks Easily

I own Enve wheels and handlebar and thought their tape would be as high quality. While the thickness and texture are great, the tape is weak when giving it a bit of tension while wrapping the bar. Mine broke halfway around after the final bend. This was a loss of both rolls and I will not be buying enve tape again.

Almost awesome

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Really liked this but surface wear looks shabby in about 9 or 10 months.Much shorter than other brands I've used. Won't buy again.

Fantastic Handlebar Tape!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I was using a very popular brand handlebar tape on my road bike only to find that it had to be handled with baby gloves to do the initial wrapping and then it fell apart within a year. I went with this Enve tape and installation was an absolute dream. This tape is just as or even more grippy than what I was using before and it is super cushiony! I seriously cannot imagine going to another handlebar tape after using this Enve tape.

Best bar tape ever!

Finally a tape long enough for wide gravel bars. Never have to re-wrap cause there is not enough at the end. Feels great like it's not even there.

Excellent Bar Tape

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Purchased this in grey to compliment my new Moonstone Blue Stiggy. It feels great in hands. Just the right amount of cushion, grip, and feel overall. Not too squishy and helps with buzz/vibration. Killer styling as well. Some competitor brands are just as expensive and don't feel as good as the Enve bar tape. Worth the $$$. Haven't yet taken it off road, but so far it's great for road riding. My local bike shop installed it and was so excited and impressed by the Enve bar tape, they were showing it off to other customers who were looking for bar tape. My installer asked to use the extra unused bar tape to wrap baby stroller handles. Would buy again!
