Very limited space...
I bought this bag a while ago, while it is pretty durable the fabric doesn't expand and since you can only access from the top you have to dig deep to get stuff on the bottom.

Amazing new bag but not as nostalgic as the first
I had this bag years ago, solid it, regretted it and just purchased a new one. I actually love this bag even though my purchase was partially a disappointment. Not because there is anything fundamentaly wrong with the new version but it IS - a new version. My beautiful trusted former version had a heavy suede underside and bottom, with suede accents throughout. It looked, felt and wore like the classic pack our grandparents had. This new version is noticeably less dense material wise, and has an almost purposebuilt ultralight approavh to it. My old version also had the classic pin hole clasps for securing the straps versus this new hook and loop clasp. I was hoping that this updated version over the one I bought six years ago was the same - but it is not. Does not mean it's better or worse, but I would love to see Fjallraven introduce a true bare bones minimal classic series.

6 years and going strong.
I have owned this bag for 6 years now, using every day for work, and travelled around a lot for work as my all-in-one personal bag. It’s been incredibly sturdy and I’ve never had a single problem with it. It easily take a 16 inch MacBook Pro, iPad, all my clothes, places for water bottles, straps on the front for coats etc, and the pocket on the top is perfect for AirPods, wallet and passport. I’ve travelled on Ryanair, easyjet, and non-budget, and it’s been approved as my carry-on every single time. When I first bought this bag I chose the look over wanting a bag with more padding on the straps and back. That’s the one thing at times I’ve missed - having something that will take the weight a little better, but it felt like a fair trade off! I’ve loved this bag. It’s only now starting to look a little tired, but it will honestly last me for a good few years. Only issue I’ve really had it that when it’s fully packed out, it’s really hard to find a use for the front pocket as it’s hard to get into. After 6 years there is no fraying, no rips, no holes, just dirty from life!

Poor quality
The backpack is ripping apart after 1,5 year - already hole at the bottom of the backpack. Color fading occurred very soon. Too expensive for the poor quality. Very disappointed.

Poor qualitiy for the price
I bought mine in 2019 and I used it a lot to work. Unfortunately the bottom at the seam is ripping open since a year or so. And I am not walking long distances because I live next to my work, I just have to cross the street and change places within my work a couple of times. I think if I would have used it on longer walks it would not have lasted more than 1,5 years. The backpack is quite expensive and for that this should not happen. A weak point like this should be dealt with and customers should get a replacement then. I love the look but on long walks with a full backpack it will be uncomfortable.

It has the look, but not the functionality
I do love this bag for its look, but not its functionality. I have two big gripes with it however, and neither are the seam problem that others report. Firstly the water 'resistance only lasted about 6 months, it could have been less as I first got the bag in May and by the early Autumn it could not withstand a 10 minute walk from the bus in the rain. I purchased the wax to re-waterproof it, but each time I have used it this leaves unsightly streaks over the bag and doesn't even seem to protect the bag from even light showers. I know the bag is stated as water resistant but I don't see how it can be called as much, It's frustrating as I've had to purchase a bag rain cover to protect my laptop and sketchbooks. The second problem is the very tight water bottle pockets, with redundant poppers on them. At first they look to be the right size but when the bag is full it is near impossible to get a relatively slim 500ml water bottle in the sides. It becomes impossible because of the metal poppers on each side preventing the bottle to be able to be squeezed in. I had to remove these in the end because it was just too frustrating. Even if the pockets had a panel of elastic it would avoid this problem

Best bag I have ever have
I can't leave with it and I can't be more happy! I have use my bag everyday for the last 4 years, for cycling to work, climbing, travelling and of course for many adventures! I do have re-waxed it a couple of times and care for it, as minor holes are obviously happening but nothing that can't be fixed to extend the life of this fantastic bag!

Beautiful pack with one weakpoint
Mine has lasted 3 years and I adore it and had many adventures together! I'm really sad that it's finally starting to wear out. As others have said, the area where the base meets the back wears through and the fabric thins to the point of ripping. I'm going to try and patch mine to keep it going, but it will be retired from daily use. If Fjallraven were to reinforce this area with harder wearing fabric it would last a lifetime. I love everything else about it! (also Fjallraven, if you're reading this please also add a bit more padding to the base of the laptop sleeve, the protection is fine but not excellent)

Nice and light rucksack
I bought this rucksack (Dusk colour) a few weeks ago for my everyday commute and I’m very happy with it. It fits well, good quality and lives up to my expectations for this kind of bag.
