Warmest coat I’ve ever owned.
Bought this a few months ago after a cold trip to NYC. Back home in Colorado along the front range there were days of -10 degrees Fahrenheit and i was warm. While trekking I was opening it up. Can’t recommend it more. I brought my wife aone as well.

Great parka!
I bought one of these a few years ago in XL. I’m 6’4 and about 200 pounds with very long arms. It fits me perfectly. I have worn it at 0F with just a shirt on under it and I was plenty warm. It’s made very well and I think the price is very reasonable for the quality. It never leaks any feathers and will last for years. I have the Greenland Winter coat too that I’ve had for about seven years and it’s still in perfect condition. I’ve just come onto this website to buy another one of their coats and maybe an insulated pair of pants. Some people say the prices are high, but I strongly disagree. Very well made products that will last for many years.

I wanted a coat to keep me warm in single / negative digits, in Northern Iowa. Our goldendoodle is impervious to the cold and expects to be walked, regardless of temperature. So far, my dog walking has been in upper 20’s / low 30’s. I am warm with just shirt/sweater underneath. I read and was concerned about the double zipper, and located on the “wrong” side. Don’t worry. It took me about a week, and no longer a problem. Also, reviews have spoken to the HUGE hood. Yes, it is deep BUT there is an adjustment available to make it less deep. I recommend the coat.

Minor flaws, great coat
I like just about everything in this coat, so I'll list the few things I think are less than perfect: The pockets, as others mention, are in an annoying place compared to side entry pockets to keep your hands warm. The biggest defect is that the large hood doesn't have a way to close the coat at the neck if you're wearing it with the hood down. This lets cold air in down to your chest because the opening is so big. Other than that, it's a very warm coat, very well made with high quality materials. It kept me plenty warm out on a walk in 5F / -15C last winter.

Very Warm Coat, Almost Great
I live in Connecticut and purchased this coat about a month ago. It's been in the teens for the last couple weeks and this coat has kept me very warm. I recommend sizing down. I'm 5'8", 155 lbs, 39" chest, 32" waist. I normally wear medium shirts and coats, but for this jacket I sized down to a small and it fits great with plenty of room to add proper layering (base layer, long sleeve shirt, hoodie). Though I do really like this coat, I do have 2 gripes with it. 1. It really needs better hand warmer pockets. The position of the handwarmer pockets on the women's Nuuk Parka is a much better location for them. So higher up on the chest/mid section with side entrances. Also, there is a fleece liner inside the handwarmer pockets, but it's only on one side of the pocket... I'd prefer a fully lined pocket. 2. The hood is more like a storm shelter than a hood. It's enormous. Very warm though. I'd prefer if the hood was like 20 - 30% smaller. I nearly returned the coat for these 2 reasons, but I decided the weren't deal breakers. If these 2 things were fixed, I'd give this coat 5 stars. A few of the features I really like about this coat are: 1. Heavy Canvas outer shell 2. Gussets behind the shoulders 3. Gussets at the wrists (super useful for putting on gloves, can easily tighten the sleeve over the glove while wearing the coat.) 4. Lots of pockets 5. Waist, hem, and hood draw cords really help to lock cold air out of the coat.

Truly Great Coat

This is a great coat. Believe the hype of the other reviews. I've had the coat for about a month now. Temperatures have been between 10 and 40 degrees F. I mostly wear this for walking the dog and long walks around town. Even after a 2 mile walk in 15 degree weather, I was not cold. I usually wear a t shirt and sweatshirt under it, but you could probably get away without the sweater if you really wanted to. I love the material of the coat. My previous coat was a Fjallraven Ovik 3-in-1. This coat feels a lot more durable, which is a surprise because the Ovik felt very well-made. It is a thick, heavy material, sort of similar to a Carhart jacket. You do not feel any wind coming through this coat, but I will say that it makes the coat a little more heavy than your typical nylon winter coat. I feel confident that if I were to wear this while walking through the woods, it would be very durable against tree branches, thorns, etc. The pockets are a little unusual. While most coats have "side" pockets that you put your hands in near your hips, this coat only has the 4 front pockets, the bottom 2 which are designed for hands. I considered returning the coat because of this, but after a little getting used to, it feels pretty natural to walk around with your hands in these 2 lower pockets. The front half of the pocket is lined with something fuzzy and warm, the back half is the same material as the coat. Also, I should mention that there are 2 interior "pouch" pockets at the waist. The hood is VERY large. It looks a little goofy, especially if you remove the fur liner (not my style), but overall it seems to perform well. This is a very large coat. I am 6'2" 165lbs. Read: tall and thin. I pretty much always wear a size Large coat, but a Medium in this coat fit perfectly. I love how long it is, too. It gives pretty solid coverage of the thighs. Overall, I am extremely impressed by the quality of this coat. It is pretty expensive (I got mine on sale), but the build quality is there to back it.

Great but wide shoulders. XS over S
I like the jacket. Buy smaller than you think. I’m not a tall man but the guide said I should go for a small. It’s slightly too large in the shoulders. Go to the store and try on sizes if you can. I was on a wait list for xs for 7 months for the green and they never updated the sizes so I had to buy the small, I think xs would’ve been perfect. Quality jacket though and super warm. I was out in -17C weather and my torso hardly noticed.

BUY IT!
I went hiking in Iceland with this jacket, and let me tell you, it is 100% worth it. At first, I was slightly annoyed with the hood, but now I see why it's designed like that; my hood stayed on in 60 mph wind! The zipper's leather tag broke off, but it's not a big deal. The zipper can be annoying to zip up and get stuck at times. Overall, I was in -8 degree weather and 60 mph wind and SWEATING during my hike- definitely wind and waterproof. I did but on wax only on the shoulders but you honestly don't really need the wax, I've been in rain, snow, hail and stayed dry and warm.

Perfect coat for me, just what I had hoped for.
First - I will say this coat is AWESOME! I wanted to finally invest in a hardy quality winter coat and this one fit the bill. This is the warmest and nicest coat I've ever owned. I was tired of the trendy lightweight down coats that don't actually keep you as warm as you'd like. There is a kind of pleasure that comes from wearing and enjoying a finely crafted article of clothing and this jacket gives just that. It feels exceptionally cozy and of high quality. Second, I will say that this coat is BIG. I really do not understand Fjallraven's sizing recommendations. For reference, I am male, 6' and 160lbs with an athletic (I would like to say) build. I find it a little frustrating to read reviews and feedback about sizing but most people do not put their body size in the review for comparison. If I had followed Fjallraven's sizing guide, I should have ordered a medium. I was torn about which size to order and found it hard to gauge based on reviews, so I ordered a Small and Medium with the intent to return whichever one I didn't want. I will definitely be sticking with the small. The small itself almost feels a tad oversized but I think it will do okay. The medium just feels comically big on me. Even with wearing a shirt and lightweight sweater underneath, I am quite comfortable and still have full range of motion in the small. As far as warmth and comfort, this thing feels so comfortable. I am impressed with the amount of down and insulation in this thing. I live in the midwest USA and our winters get down to 18-20F on an average cold winter day, usually with several days dipping into the single digits or lower. I walk my dog every morning and enjoy winter hiking and I feel confident and prepared for the coming winter now. So far we have not hit a very very cold day but I did try it out in a morning just above freezing. I wore only a T-shirt underneath while walking my dog and did not overheat in it as others stated - I felt quite comfortable. Part of me wonders if this means I would be a little cold in just the jacket on the really really cold days, but I think it is reasonable to still require a warm base layer or thin sweater underneath to stay warm enough. I feel confident this will be the case. The hood is impressive - big and warm and well insulated and fits snugly enough when pulled over your head and the fuzzy lining feels functional enough to keep out wind, not just a fashion statement. The drawstrings add a nice touch and work well, helping you to show off your lean figure still in a thick coat as you cinch it up around your waist. This helps trap warm air inside and I noticed it also takes a bit of the weight of the coat off your upper body and puts it onto your hips - kind of like the hip straps of a backpack. The zipper is not really as big of a problem as some have complained. It is a bit funny because it is on the opposite side as most zippers for men in the US. Maybe this is a Swedish thing? I'm sure I will get used to it. Overall, I would say: Stylish, cozy, WARM, quality. It brings me joy and confidence knowing I am well prepared for the coming winter.

My favorate design
I have now become a fan of Fjallraven parkas. I like their casual/outdoorsy design over more formal/urban designs (CG, MK, etc.). I like the numerous pockets of which some are quite spacious. This is a big plus for me over other brands (like CG and MK). Price-wise Fjallraven falls in the middle: they are not the cheapest in the market yet they are less expensive than the so called 'prestigious' brands like CG, MK, N, M, etc.. I find Fjallraven to be as good as any of the them in regards to product quality. The G1000 shell feels very tough and durable. The lining feels good too though I like the lining of Singi Wool better as it feels more organic. Why doesn't Fjallraven use the same lining in Singi Down is puzzle-some to me. There are a few caveats though. After getting a Singi Wool in small size which was a perfect fit for me, I bought the Singi Down in small size too . It turned out to be too small for me. It felt particularly tight around my hip. I am 72kg, 178cm tall. Moreover, I got it in Dark Navy color. Strangely, the shell had a green hue to it! It wasn't a deal breaker but I certainly preferred a neutral navy tone. I could not return the jacket so sold it online. Since I liked the jacket, I was looking to get one in medium size. Recently, there was a sale on Fjakraven products in a local store at %50 discount. These were apparently sample units or new units with some defects. Look and behold, I saw a Singi Down (sample unit) in large size (the only available one). I tried it and while it was a bit loose and bulky on me, it was certainly acceptable and the sleeves were the right length. Strangely, the jacket was in a beautiful blue tone (indigo?) that is not available online. The color was like dream come true! So I am again a Singi Down owner. Not sure why this color isn't available online for sale. Perhaps, they are planning to introduce the color in the future or is perhaps this is a discontinued color.
