Why We Like The Garmin inReach Mini 2
The inReach Mini 2 gives us the same compact communication means as its predecessor but now with loads more battery life and features. Rather than lasting hours, it lasts days, letting us use it for much more than just check-ins on our multi-day missions. With the new ability to sync with Garmin Explorer, we can plan our course on the computer screen and save it to this palm-sized device. As we venture well beyond cell coverage, the new electronic compass gives us an accurate heading as we stand still, while the addition of Galileo gives us a quicker and more precise satellite lock, even with some tree cover. If we get turned around, the addition of TracBack routing helps us find our way.

Worked good and did what it was supposed to do.
I used this on a recent hunting trip and it did work just as described. Some of the other guys had a Zoleo which worked just as good and for a cheaper price. I do like some of the extra options and Garmin makes a great product, this looks like it would make it through the zombie apocalypse. If you don't use all the extra options there is a cheaper way to go. I would give this a 4 and a half stars if available as it does function just as it should and is a nice looking product. The Garmin is much smaller than the other devices which has its own benefit.

Verdict still out
Have not used on hunting trip yet. I did get everything set up and working. Seems to be working ok.. Looking forward to using later this fall on several hunting trip in areas I have not had cell service. Now I can let my wife know I'm alive and have not been mulled by a bear.

So far so good
Bought this for my husband's fishing trips to Canada but used it for the first time hiking. Signal worked like a charm. No cell service, but the Mini2 sent the signal out where we were starting from on our hike to let others know. Text went out in a deep canyon perfectly.

Great Features, Slow Response Time
Finally got to use this on a hunting trip. Loved the features it had with weather check, but I noticed it was very slow to update and check for new messages.

Works Great!
I have only tested it on walks, but the tracking and messaging are great! May use it when I ski this winter in Colorado.

Reliable Safety Device
I bought the inReach Mini 2 a week before finding out that my hunting zone (D8 in California) had minimal to no reception. The ease of use to set up was pretty easy without having to use the instructions. However, I should have read them because I didn't realize I had to add a contact after the recipient had downloaded the app in order to receive messages. I assumed it was automatic. Nevertheless, I felt confident I could ask for help if need be and I was checking in constantly with family and friends since I was on a solo hunt. The only feature I did not like was the typing feature because there's a lot of scrolling up to up and down the alphabet to select and OK it to continue. Ergonomically, I would've preferred different locations for the buttons, but this awesome device is "mini" so there's not much place to place the necessary buttons. I can live with it. The battery left a very long time even in below freezing temperatures. I turn it on, check in, clip itb to my backpack, and away I go. There a free plans to choose from and even have an option to purchase insurance in the event SAR has to come and get you. I highly recommend this product to let your family know that everything is okay.

Love it
I bought this as I do a bit of solo camping, and it makes both my family and myself more comfortable. It is lightweight and does exactly what it needs to do.

First time buyer and user of the inreach mini 2
I choose the unreachable mini 2 because of all the satellite connections and possible additions of adding star link. It was easy to pair my device to my phone and the plans are affordable and I can suspend the service when I am not using it which is great. I bought to be safe while out overlanding and hunting. So it has been great. Charge last for awhile but I only power it on when outside so it is not searching for signal all the time indoors.

Extremely handy and user friendly!
I bought this unit to communicate with my wife while on a hunting trip to Idaho back country. I had zero issues with the unit, sends messages easily and holds a great battery charge.
