Gore Wear C3 GORE-TEX INFINIUM Thermo Jacket
Gore Wear’s new softshell C3 GORE-TEX INFINIUM Thermo Jacket situates itself between the warm and cozy fleece-lined, long-sleeve jersey, and the ready-for-a-deluge storm jacket. Enhanced with a GORE-TEX INFINIUM wind-blocking membrane, the fleece-lined interior steps up to the task of keeping you insulated in the first miles of dawn patrol and as you pedal squares back to home after a day-long ride a cycling camp.
In addition to the cold-weather barrier that is the heart of the C3, Gore Wear enlists the help of trusted standards like three rear-pockets (plus a zippered secured pocket), inner cuffs to keep out the chilly air, and reflective details for low-light riding.

Handles MN cold & slush, good build
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- US L
Twin Cities MN rider wanted a winter slush- and wind-resistant jacket down to teens "feels like" temps that also provided "see-me" visibility in the typical short, overcast winter days and dusk. I've got maybe a dozen uses ranging from feels-like 10° to 30°s. Excellent "See-me" in my neon yellow version. I'm pretty cold-blooded but the jacket plus a 250g long-sleeved underwool was still good for the lows - could feel the cold transmitting thru but never felt like too little insulation - and a wool tee was adequate for the 30°s. My rides are usually an hour to do 14 miles. (I'll have to find something else for "see-me" safety above 35° I'd guess, since I started to drop the zipper on that ride). Plenty of slush-splash but I didn't feel it and didn't seep thru. Build quality seems really solid but strangely I confirmed mens on the tag but it has women's zipper - no biggie. Only one season under my belt but it feels like it'll be good for many more. Back pockets useful for additional gloves and the zipper pocket on the right fits phones no problem. I'm 6'1' 170# 60 YO average proportions prefer an athletic fit and usually but "M"; the US "L" fits great with those underwools without being restrictive but also not flapping. Good low-back cover. Sleeves could use 1/2" to be perfect but work well with heavier cuffed gloves over the sleeve and with lighter gloves tucked under the sleeve even with a fitness watch on. I'd buy it again and recommend

Great purchase
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Medium
- Height:

- Weight:
- 135
I'm 5'6" and 135 Lbs wearing medium size. It's run a little bit large to my body, but it wasn't bad. Some reviews on the Gorewear website say products run small on thermal jersey, which is not on my case. But I'm happy because I didn't want it to fit in my skin. I have to wear a short or long base layer every time. Fabric is soft and comfortable. It's so easy to wear. I have been using it for a couple of times this fall already. Chicago weather around 60 F° and chill windy day. With a short base layer, it's way too warm for me, but in 55 F°, it was perfect. 40 miles round trip both times. Very comfortable. Temperature above 45 F° with a long base layer and a good wind jacket should be just fine for me.

Great jacket - runs small
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- L
- Height:
- 6' 1"
- Weight:
- 165
I wear a medium for all shirts including athletic wear (running, riding). I originally ordered a medium but could barely even put it on. I sent it back and got the large. I just finished my first ride with it. The large-size is perfect, kept me very warm on a 30 mile road bike ride in 40 degree temps with light rain. I wore this jacket and an underarmour baselayer (cold gear). That was plenty to keep me warm on my upper body at this temp. My feeling is it would be fine down into the 30s but not much colder than that.
