Best Food Jar
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently bought the Hydro Flask Food Jar for my son to take warm lunches to school, and I’m so glad I did! I usually pack his food around 7:45am, and by the time he eats lunch at 11:20am, it’s still perfectly hot. The insulation really works, and it gives me peace of mind knowing he’s enjoying a fresh, warm meal instead of something cold by the time lunch comes around. The size is just right for a school lunch, it’s easy to clean, and the design is sturdy enough to handle daily use. Definitely worth it for parents who want to send a hot homemade meal with their kids!

Keeps food warm, but powder-coat peels off :(
Love that this food jar keeps my son's school lunch warm from packing at 6:30am until his lunch around noon (I always pre-heat the food jar with very hot water before filling). Love the colors. Hate that we have to buy a new one every school year because the colorful layer peels off in the dishwasher.

Nice design change
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven’t used it yet, but I like the shorter design over my last 12oz insulated food jar. More bowl-like than a mug.

Fanstatic
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the new design of the food jar, it’s very light to carry around and it’s not bulky like the old design and it’s easy to grip and open.

Cute design, poor insulation
I love the shape of this container, the color choices, the wide mouth that makes it easy to eat out of. However, I did not buy it solely on its aesthetic. I bought it to keep my oatmeal warm from home to work. I make my breakfast at 6 a. m. then pack it to eat at my desk. At 8:30, my food is lukewarm at best. I've even tried filling the container with hot water beforehand to heat it up, and it doesn't help. Am I the only one having this issue? I bought this in 12 oz and 20 oz, and neither of them work well. I really love Hydroflask, but this could be the end of me buying these products.

Gets dent easily
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It does a good job keeping food safe and warm but it’s really easy to get dent.

Works for school lunches
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I saw some reviews stating food didn't stay hot for long enough. I'm sure that's true if you are asking it to do 8 hours, but for your standard middle school lunch time, my daughter is very happy with how this product has performed. Considering purchasing the smaller size as well.

Is there a difference in how long this food jar can keep food warm or cold compared to the kids insulated food jar of the same size (12oz) or are the differences primarily cosmetic?

My 18 oz food jar is not keeping my food warm after just 4 hours. Before I put my hot food inside the jar, I put hot water during 2-3 minutes, dry it and then put the food and close it till I eat it. My food is always cold after just 4 hours..am I wrong?
