Why We Like The Jetboil Genesis Base Camp 2 Burner Cooking System
The Jetboil Genesis Base Camp 2 Burner Cooking System is a compact two-burner stove system that runs on a standard 16.4-ounce propane bottle and allows us to whip up everything from bacon and eggs for breakfast to spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. We especially like that the compact design allows the stove to fold together and nest in the included pot for easy carrying up to camp, but also limits the amount of space the system takes up in the back of our rig when car camping.

Here's what customers have to say
The camping stove is well-made, durable, and versatile, with a compact and efficient design that allows all components to nest together for easy transport. The powerful and adjustable burners can accommodate a wide range of cooking needs, from simple camp fare to more elaborate dishes. The included cookware features a non-stick coating and a large pot size suitable for multiple people. However, some users noted the thin metal used in the skillet, the wind shield not fully protecting the cooking surfaces, and issues with the regulator failing after repeated use. While the initial cost is high, most felt it was worth the investment for the quality and features.

Innovative, but the use of plastic is baffling
The Jetboil Genesis stove is both one of the most impressive and most frustrating pieces of gear I’ve used. On the positive side, it’s incredibly compact, fuel efficient, and offers excellent flame control. The mechanical build quality feels solid, and the wide design allows two full-sized pots or pans to fit comfortably, which is a huge plus for camp cooking. Unfortunately, it’s undermined by some baffling poor material choices. Key components such as the pan handle, lid, and even the windscreen are made of non-heat-reistant plastic and can melt under normal use. This raises concerns not only about durability, but also about the possibility of melted plastic coming into contact with food. While its wide footprint is functional for cooking, it can also make the stove awkward to fit on smaller picnic tables. Overall, the Genesis is innovative, compact, and highly functional, but its reliance on plastic in heat-exposed areas makes it less durable than it should be.

Great, except for the dreadful plastic lid.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good product, but 3 years after purchasing it, there is still no alternative for the plastic lid? Like everyone else, mine melted on the pot the first time while boiling water... still mostly usable, but with the consistent number of complaints, I'm surprised that no replacements have been developed. a replacement plastic lid would be nice, but I would only use it after taking the utensils off the stove. Are you listening to your customers, Jetboil?

A wise investment!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this set up after going through two stoves that stopped working on camping trips. This one is way more reliable and simple, with less parts that can fail. Super straightforward, easy to use, and very manageable size. It doesn't get all filthy like the other stoves either. I love how perfect it is for a variety of trips - from car camping to backpacking and most anything in between. Wish I would have bought this much sooner!

Almost perfect
This is a great little item with two notable exceptions. The first is plastic parts. The pot lid and windscreen should both be aluminum. For an item at this price point, there should be premium materials which are more resistant to heat. Those two parts are cheap. I’m using a generic aluminum windscreen, but haven’t yet found a better lid for the pot. The other issue I’ve got is the fixed regulator. I want to connect this to a 5 lb. propane tank. The regulator makes it awkward. If it had a braided stainless hose like some of the generic stoves on the market, it would be easier to make that work. I made a solution with some brass fittings, but it could be easier. It’s a nice item nonetheless.
