Size Bought:

I borrowed a friend's for a weekend campout & IMMEDIATELY wentn& bought my own. I git the smaller one as it's all I need but gotta admit the igniter on his was nice. 5 stars if I didn't have to dog out the matches every time. Otherwise YAY I have coffee! (And oatmeal and soup)

Perfect size, weight for backpack hunting/camping

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Zip 0.8L is just want I need when you carry your camp on your back during Elk season. The Zip is the right size, fits in your pack with good size and little weight. I like that everything fits into one complete unit with everything well thought out and able to withstand many years of use.

Jetboil Zip

I have not used the one that I ordered as of yet. I bought this because a buddy of mine has it and have used it a few times and it is great. Much lighter than my old setup and is much faster, meaning less fuel. I don't mind that it doesn't have an igniter, I tend to just throw a mini Bic in the cup and leave it there, not to mention I always have another lighter with me for emergencies.

Definitely an improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far it's a 9/10, construction is built nicely but minus one point for no automatic start you need an external spark source to get it going

Great budget-friendly backpacking stove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jetboil makes fantastic products. This is my 2nd Jetboil Zip and while these things are great, they are held back by not having a built-in ignition source. The slightly more expensive Flash solves this issue and is definitely worth the higher price point. I have used both the Flash and Zip extensively and while I love both; the Flash is going to be picked every time. That being said, the Zip is a great option if you always have a lighter handy and you are looking to get into backpacking. They both utilize Jetboil's patented technology that boils water extremely fast and are the perfect coolest to your freeze-dried backpacking meals or ramen noodles. Jetboil gave me this free product to try.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disclaimer: Jetboil gave me this product free to test. With that being said I will be reviewing this product as unbiasedly as possible. I am an avid backpacker and have been for quite some time. In the past I have used previous models and versions of Jetboils products. Shown in the picture is both the older model of the Zip and the new version. Weight: (g) Old- 357 New- 362 Length: (") Old- 6 1/16 New- 6 7/16 Time to Boil 1L (average in seconds of 3 trials) Old- 161 New- 135 In conclusion while the newer model is slightly heavier and larger it does boil faster than previous models due to design. Additionally the fuel adjustment knob is significantly larger, featuring a cool topographical texture, making adjustments easier. Overall a significant improvement on previous models. Would love to see an ultralight option from Jetboil in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Jetboil systems for years, and this latest model continues the brand's reputation for fast, reliable boiling in outdoor conditions. The new dial is a great upgrade-intuitive and easy to use. The unit itself is impressively lightweight, making it an essential piece of gear for any hiker, camper, or backpacker. Performance-wise, it excels in cold weather and high winds, which is critical for backcountry adventures. Even in challenging conditions, it brought water to a boil quickly and efficiently, just as expected from Jetboil. That said, while this model performs well, the improvements don't seem significant enough to justify replacing an older version if you already own one. One area that still needs refinement is the bottom cup/cover. It feels somewhat flimsy and prone to cracking, especially when packing and unpacking the unit. A more durable material or reinforced design would be a welcome upgrade in future models. Overall, if you're new to Jetboil or looking for a dependable camp stove, this is a solid choice. Getting a Jetboil with a built-in igniter is a must-don't even consider models that don't have one. The convenience of a reliable built-in igniter, especially in cold or windy conditions, makes all the difference in the field. Disclosure: Jetboil provided me with this product for free to test and review.

Trusty Jetboil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not a 5-star solely for the lack of heating actual food products. Otherwise, it boils water extremely quickly which helps extend the life of your fuel canisters. This is best used for preparing coffee, teas, or rehydrating dehydrated meal packs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jetboil gave me this product free to try for this review. Great camp stove! Really makes it simple to carry all the camp stove essentials - the canister and stove nest easily within the mug portion so you don't need to worry about missing anything or trying to tetris different parts together. It has some weight to it, but it really shines in its ability to be grabbed right off the shelf and tossed into the bag ready to go without having to worry about any fragile parts. The form factor also really is great for bikepacking - it fits easily into common fork cages! The lack of starter is fine, I typically carry a lighter or two anyway, and starters tend to be finicky at elevation. The lid is a bit of a letdown, the pouring spout doesn't really do much and water tends to dribble over the edge and spill out. I wish it was a touch lighter so that I could reach for this on some of the gnarlier hikes where every ounces counts, but for most people this is really going to be the sweet spot of durability versus weight. Especially for bikepacking - the shape fits perfectly onto my fork cage and with how stout this stove is I really don't have to worry about it taking some glancing hits from rocks while I ride.
