BeFree Water Filtration System

Awesome and convenient

This has been one of the best filters I’ve used. It is so small and packable and the flow rate is great. One addition that would be nice is if the lid was attached to the bladder so I didn’t have to hold the lid or set it down when I’m filling the bladder. But I love how small it’s packed when it has no water in it and it so moldable when filled that it fits in virtually any pocket. Fantastic product for the price point and will certainly be a staple in the bag.

This Katadyn BeFree and its 1 liter bigger sibling has become my go to filter system. It’s compact yet durable, and has excellent flow rate. It’s easy to use and clean.

Great Flow

Noticeable difference between the ease of use of the flow rate of the BeFree and my old Sawyer Mini. The BeFree fits on hydrapak bottles. I've already put a small pinhole in my flask after low use, so be careful with where you store these and how you pack them. I would prefer my sawyer for backpacking due to its ability to thread on bottles, and will be using my BeFrees for trail running.

I’ve had these for going on 5 years and continue to purchase them for friends and family whenever we are gearing up for a big hike. My dad and I just did his first through hike through Scotland and he loved the ease and capacity of the BeFree. Just be sure to clean it out at the end of each trip and these should last you a couple of years. It is easy to just replace the filter cap when you need to.

Used backpacking, perfect

We used these on a 3 day backpacking trip and filled them from a running river numerous times. Water tasted great and never had a hint of feeling ill. I would highly recommend these as a hiking companion.

Have previously been using a different brand but love being able to get water and stay on the move.

Great for hikes. Lightweight and easy to use. I wish it used a standard bottle opening though.

Used this on a 3 week rafting trip to filter out Colorado River water. Sediment was high and who knows what was in the water. Highly recommended.

I purchased this item for use during training and running a 240mi ultra. Simple to use. Light weight and takes up little space so you can throw it in a running pack and have in case of emergency or simply as another water receptacle. Saved my bacon on a long hot run when I ran out of water and the natural sources looked sketch.

Great solution for the casual backpacker

I took this filter on a quick overnight trip and it did exactly what I hoped it would. The soft bottle helped easily filter water quickly. I used it to fill other bottles as we went. Very happy with my purchase.
