Why We Like The Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot
Lacing up the Keen Targhee Mid II Hiking Boots before a trail run is like shifting our feet into four-wheel drive. Their 4mm lugs grab rough terrain, while the waterproof and breathable Keen.Dry insert keeps our feet comfortably dry.
The dual-density, compression-molded EVA midsoles cushion and absorb shock so you can return to the trailhead without achey feet. The mid-height cut protects your ankle from rolls and twists, and Keen's heel support structure cups your heel so you experience less slippage and blisters.

Here's what customers have to say
The hiking boots are widely praised for their comfort, support, and durability. Many reviewers say the boots required little to no break-in period and were comfortable right out of the box. The boots are described as having excellent traction, ankle support, and a roomy toe box that accommodates wide feet. Reviewers say the boots are waterproof and keep their feet dry even in wet conditions. However, some reviewers have had issues with the quality and durability, reporting problems like the soles separating, the boots not being truly waterproof, and the fit changing in newer versions compared to older models. A few reviewers also found the boots to be too narrow or stiff. Overall, the hiking boots are a highly recommended option for those seeking comfort, support, and durability, though some customers have had quality issues with more recent versions.

Lining problem
purchased 2nd time to replaced old pair. However, Quick Dry Lining material is annoying. Dried weeds get cought in linings and pocking my feet. Never experienced it with the old pair.

Great boot!
This pair of Women’s Targhee II Waterproof boots are just as comfortable and effective as the previous two pairs of the same boot have been. I hike in them on a daily basis and the prior two pairs of boots lasted about years each. Please don’t stop making these boots. They are great!

Faulty sole design
The Targhee II has a faulty sole. Read the reviews; you will see folks mentioning sole separation over and over. This is not a new issue. These two part soles are plagued with separation issues. I love Keens, but they should be ashamed to still make these with this sole. They fall apart outside of their 1-year warranty, so loyal Keens shoppers are stuck with unusable boots.

5 stars so far

I've had these for about a month now and I've been wearing them daily during the week. I've been a Merrell Moab girlie for the last 10 years, but wasn't happy with the durability of my last two pairs so I decided to try something else. So far so good! Not too hot, not too cold, plenty of room for my toes, good arch support, good traction, and my feet are dry. The foot bed did take some getting used to because it seems to have more outer arch support than I've been used to, but I actually really like it. I will put them to the test this summer field season and we will see on the durability.

Shoddy manufacturing and wet feet
I'd had a pair of Targhee 3s for a couple of years, and the bottoms were starting to wear through. I decided to try the 2s this time around because I thought they might be a slightly better shape for my foot. The shape is fine, but the boots leaked the first time I wore them! There was about half an inch of light snow on the ground, and I came home with cold, wet feet. Now, after less than a month of light wear (about 20-25 days wear total, nothing more strenuous than walking on suburban sidewalks), there's obvious fraying around seams that makes me think these were really poorly put together. By contrast, my old 3s are still watertight and there's no fraying at all, after a couple years of wear to include some actual hiking.

Not original fit
I ordered these because the description claimed they were original fit. Well, I have some older Keens that have plenty of room for my little toes, but these compress them. You either need to make them original fit or stop calling them that. In the photo, the new ones are on top.

Always good for me!
This is probably my seventh pair of the exact same boot and I am as happy now as I was with the first pair. I really abuse my boots with everything you can think of and I àm happy to put them on again every morning. When I was teaching (35 years) I wore them every day from first frost to the first 75* day. Always good .

Even better fit than before
This is my 4th pair of Targhee II hikers and the fit is even better than previous pairs. I have a longer toe on my left foot that always bumps into the front of any shoe I wear, but not this pair. I wear an 8. 5 and this is true to size with plenty of room for a slightly thicker winter sock. The sole feels more supportive when I walk too. I always wear down the heel cushioning of my hikers so I'll be interested to see if this pair holds up better than the last few.

Love my Targhee II
Right out of the box the Targhee II was comfortable, wore them for several hours and had no pain anywhere! I have a lot of osteoarthritis and halix rigiditus in my big toes so finding shoes that are comfortable is extremely difficult but these are awesome!!!
