Maine Mountain Parka combines rugged waterproof protection with warm 650-fill DownTek

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This parka is my go-to when winter really sets in. The waterproof TEK canvas shell keeps out snow and wind, while the 650-fill DownTek stays lofty and warm even in wet conditions. I love the snorkel hood for full-face coverage on blustery days, and the pockets are big enough to stash gloves, snacks, and my phone without issue."

We rely on the Maine Mountain Parka when the forecast calls for freezing temperatures, biting winds, and heavy snow. Its abrasion-resistant TEK canvas shell offers fully waterproof, windproof protection, while the 650-fill DownTek insulation holds heat even when the flakes turn to sleet. This combination of durability and weatherproof warmth makes it equally at home on the mountain or navigating icy city streets.

The parka’s thoughtfully designed details keep us comfortable and organized in harsh conditions. An insulated snorkel hood with removable faux-fur ruff adds adjustable protection, while the two-way zipper with button-front wind flap locks out drafts. Multiple pockets—chest, hand, and internal—provide space for essentials, and the slightly fitted cut layers well over heavy sweaters without feeling bulky. From white-out conditions to frigid commutes, this parka stands ready.

Over the years I have bought several LLBean Parkers and jackets but this year I bought from a west coast legacy outdoor clothes suppler. There is one reason and that is the really unsatisfactory zippers on the current LLBean products. I have a thousand dollars worth of LLBean Parkers and Jackets in perfect condition except that the zippers are broken and the coat unzipps themselves and gets stuck. Many people complain about this problem and yet this policy decision goes on and on at LLBean. I miss the old LLBean.

Great coat except for handwarmer pockets

Only reason this isn't getting a five-star rating is due to the placement of the upper handwarmer pockets being too high up making it awkward when using them Otherwise, great coat extremely warm. Sizing true to size . . Looks great good length

Well built but oversized

I am 5’7 with an athletic build and I purchased a small. As much as I wanted to love this coat it was way too big and I ordered the smallest size available which was a size s. This needs to be available in xs

excellent winter jacket

Very warm, was great for my trip to Fairbanks, Alaska I preferred the length of the Maine Mountain Parka over the Baxter State Parka (I tried both). Suggestion for product improvement - additional interior pockets and a waist cinch like the Baxter State Parka.has.

Love the coat, but one aspect cost it a star

The coat is heavy, warm and pretty much exactly what I wanted. However, there is one design flaw that caused me to give it 4 stars instead of 5. The velcro on the collar sticks to the fabric on the front shoulder of the coat and has already frayed the shell (I've had the coat for only a couple of months).

Zipper ruins the coat

Nice heavy warm coat with the worst zipper I've seen on a coat. VERY hard to align the 2 zippers at the bottom and zip up the coat. You have to twist the top zipper just to get it to line up and lock in. Unacceptable for a very expensive coat.

Mid Weight Parker!

I purchased a similar Parker about fifteen years ago and found the coat to be heavy and very warm. This particular Parker has not lived up to its predecessor in warmth or comfort. Not a bad design but not as protective in zero degree temperatures.
