I've been buying a different brand for 10 years now, which will remain unnamed, but begins with an S and they are manufactured in France. 10 years ago, they were excellent, lightweight, great style, traditional laces.. None of that applies to the brand now. I've returned several different new styles because they were uncomfortable or clunky, heavy or have "quick laces" that are useless. Then I decided to take the recommendation of my brother, who has worn only La Sportiva Bushido II GTX for several years. Wow! Totally blown away! They are lightweight, extremely comfortable, look amazing and are so functional for daily 2-3 mile dog walks, to trail hiking to running. I may wear them out quickly but I will keep buying these as long as they make them. Also bought the men's for my husband and he feels exactly the same way about his!

I'm on my third pair of Bushido IIs, first GTX pair. I tried my first pair at REI (non GTX) and sized up a half size. After dozens of miles, I determined I needed to size up a full size due to the narrow toe box, and bought a second pair. I sized up a full size in the Bushido GTX (normally an 8.5 bought a 41; I think I have short toes). They feel slightly smaller than the non-GTX, but fit like a glove. Super comfortable. Sticky on PNW wet river rock crossings, Utah desert trails, and suburban pavement alike The laces are different from my non-GTX pairs, and don't stay tied. I'm constantly stopping to adjust the laces. That's my only complaint. I just bought a pair of Wildcat GTX here at Backcountry since the Bushido tread is quite worn. I'm excited to compare them!

This is my third pair of the GTX Trail shoes. I love them. They keep my feet dry in the snowy winter and are grip great on rocky trails. I ordered the same size as my street running shoes - 1/2 size larger than my normal size. They are a narrow fit.

Amazing for hiking, very lightweight and excellent grip. Not a ton of cushion, but great arch support. Great for more narrow feet. My true size is 10.5 and I got a size 11 and they were perfect.

I’ve been wearing Bushidos for running and hiking for 10 years. They’ve stayed the reliably the same unlike so many brands. This was my first pair of gtx and happy to say they fit exactly like the regular ones and my toes stay nice and dry.

Perfect for me - my second pair!

This is my second pair of the Bushido goretex shoe. Clearly a fan as I’m on my second pair of the non-goretex Bushido as well. I use them for everyday wear. The waterproof pair is put to use in the winter months and the other as it gets nicer out. It fits my foot well and I like the color. There is a slight sizzling difference between the Goretex & non Goretex.

Fourth pair of La Sportiva’Bushidos. Love the flexibility of this shoe going from road running to up the side of a mountain. These were stiffer and felt less “bounce” than my previous pairs, same brand same model.

First time I tried this brand. Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof. I don’t find them to be stiff. I’ll be using them for a hiking trip in Patagonia instead of hiking boots. I usually wear a size 8 US or 39 European. I needed a 40 European.
