Why We Like The Tarantulace Climbing Shoe

Just like its creepy crawler namesake, the Tarantulace scurries up any surface that stands in its way, letting us feed our sending hunger on both rock and plastic. With a quick pull, the microfiber lacing harness hugs in for a snug fit that doesn't have our feet screaming after a long session, while the LaspoFlex midsole gives us edging support and smearing flexibility for reliable performance through the crux.

A beginner gym climbers take

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
40 1/2
Height:
5' 8"
Weight:
140

To preface, I go to the climbing gym every other day for an hour up to three hours. I got a size to match a tight fit street shoe and found them to be comfortable. However, after 2 months of this routine and climbing, I have already had a rub-through of the rubber cap on the toe. While I dont have a basis for comparison, I did feel disappointed that they already show this wear. They are still able to be used, but I can imagine an other month and that hole will only get bigger. I would probably not buy these unless they had a discount like I had before.

La Sportiva Turantulace

I have the Miuras in a 44.5 that are really tight, so I wanted a more comfortable shoe for gym climbing. I got the Trantulace in 45 and had to send them back. The Trantulace 44.5s fit comfortably. Definitely don't buy bigger than your normal shoe size. Better to go a half size smaller.

Great for beginners

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
7.5

I love these! I’m just getting into bouldering so total newbie so I was looking for affordable beginner shoes. Had been climbing in rentals and the difference between actual bouldering shoes is so ridiculously significantly noticeably better than rental shoes. I stick to the wall like a gnat and could actually complete/send routes with them better. I do have to wear socks with them cause the shoe has a high back (where the Achilles is). I look forward going to the gym just to get to wear these shoes

I’m so happy I bought this. I just started climbing a month ago and these are great climbing shoes. Not only that they are very stylish too.
