Why We Like The LifeStraw Go Series Water Filter 1L Bottle

Staying hydrated on the trail is key, and the LifeStraw Go Series Filter Bottle helps us clean water to stay hydrated. The membrane microfilter in this water bottle filters stream and lake water to eliminate bacteria, parasites, microplastics, and sediments so that we can drink safely, and the activated carbon element provides us with a clean flavor. Speaking of clean, the bottle is made from post-consumer recycled plastic, and by using this package, we can filter enough water to replace up to 8000 single-use plastic bottles.

Here's what customers have to say

The water filter bottle is a mixed-reviewed product. Many users appreciate the built-in filter that improves tap water taste, but some experience issues like high resistance when drinking, leaks, and difficulty with water flow. The large capacity is a positive, but the filtration system requires maintenance. Overall, the bottle's quality and durability are praised, but the filtration has limitations, especially for heavy water drinkers.

Suck hard to use this

WHY is it so hard to draw? (Especially when the water level is low. ) I bought 2, one as a gift, and we BOTH find it difficult to draw through the built-in straw. It just takes so much effort. My lady friend is about to give up on hers, and I'm getting there. I cannot address it's filtering efficacy--the water tastes fine--but the difficulty on getting it out of the container makes this a poor product.

Essential for Traveling in Foreign Countries

My family of five (2 adults, 3 kids) recently took an amazing trip to Costa Rica. We were in Costa Rica for 8 days. We each had our own water bottle with three of us using the 1 liter version and the other two using the 22 oz version. The 1 liter was much more helpful because of the increased capacity in Costa Rica's hot and humid environment where you need to be drinking a lot of water. When drinking water, we drank exclusively from these water bottles. None of us got sick and the water tasted great the entire trip, from airports to the beaches to the tropics. We even brought these to the restaurants and filled them up from the water that was provided to us at the restaurant. I consider this a tool, not just a water bottle, and I think it is essential to a great trip. We will be using them on all future trips. Costa Rica is a pretty safe country for water and food but plenty of people still get sick. We didn't get sick and I'm sure it was thanks in large part to these water bottles. The filters worked exceptionally well all trip and the carbon filters seemed to last the the entire trip as well. I purchased the water bottles directly from LifeStraw and they arrived quickly. We also used the 8L gravity filter bag on our trip to provide us enough water. It worked excellent as well! I wrote a review for that product as well. Highly recommend these water bottles!

Love it!!!

Took it on a backpacking trip around Panamá as it's maiden voyage. From high end hotels to staying with indigenous communities out in the islands, not once did I need to buy or use a single plastic bottle. The only water I didn't put in is was sea water because I simply didn't need to, but I was perfectly fine drinking fresh water from all over. Highly HIGHLY recommend!

Life Saving

I bought it because I have life threatening allergies to nickel, and nickel is in the water where I live. Even though it is not advertised as getting nickel out, it does with mine. Now I don’t have to worry about clean water at all. I just fill up my go liter water bottle, and I am good to go!

Good investment

This is one of the good investments I have made in my health. I am sure that I am drinking clean water and that it is free of microplastics.

Good but not Great. . . . Improvement needed.

Overall it's good, but there are a few issues I had. One I don't like that I'm restricted in the amount of water I can sip. This is annoying especially when super thirsty. Additionally, my bottle overflowed on it's own when half full while on the plane. I opened the bottle to sip water and it was gushing out everywhere and all over me. Not ideal. Please consider making different options for this like Yeti does.

Disgusting taste, like powdery plastic

I purchased a lifestraw go 1lt water bottle after reading all the glowing reviews. I’ve previously used lifestraw while hiking, with no issues and the bottle seemed like a no brainer. What an expensive mistake. The water tastes disgusting. Foul. Plasticky. The water tastes like latex smells. I’m not joking. The first taste made me vomit. And that was after cleaning the bottle, lid, mouthpiece, and prepping the filter as per the instructions. So I cleaned, rinsed, and tried again. Still foul. Still gag worthy. At least I didn’t vomit! Several cleans, rinses, and different water later, and it still tastes foul. Sorry guys, this is a no from me. And these things are EXPENSIVE as here in Australia. A big let down.

I won't travel without it

A treat on a recent 3 week visit in Philippines. Tap water, restaurant ice water, all perfectly safe.
