it's been great so far but if you want serious warmth you will need to layer underneath. in very cold weather i wouldn't really use this as a stand alone. that being said it packs into it's own pocket and for it's compactness and how lightweight it is i think it really cannot be beat. the way the hood has a hat brim is super cool i am very happy with this purchase.
