Why We Like The Workhorse HMS Screwgate Carabiner
Mammut's strongest 'biner, the Workhorse HMS Screwgate takes on heavy loads. With the larger mouth able to accommodate multiple ropes, slings, and knots, this 'biner is our go-to center for anchors, while the bright open indicator makes sure we never forget to lock it up.

Great carabiner
Great carabiner I’m using for belaying on my neox. It’s overkill for that but honestly I can’t complain.

Strong, lightweight, sturdy, full of features!
This carabiner rocks! This is a very strong carabiner which has some very nice attributes. Even though it is a larger sized carabiner, it is lightweight for its size and has a nice smooth screw gate. The orange/red coloring to notify if you have forgotten to lock the carabiner is a nice feature. I appreciate the large opening which is helpful in several canyoneering/climbing scenarios. I primarily use my workhorse carabiners in southern Utah canyons in very rough, wet, gritty, sandy, conditions. These have held up wonderfully, and I feel like I get some of the most bang for dollar with these carabiners. These larger carabiners work well for the 4-5 tie-in points for my sandtrap anchor for canyoneering. I started out with 6 a while back, but have recently ordered 4 more. Seems like you can never have too many quality carabiners in the gear collection or in a canyon.

Excellent large locker
These exceeded expectations. Nice snappy gates, bigger than I expected, and feel quite durable. I currently have them on my anchor slings.

Good strong carabiner
Great strong carabiner, big wide shape good for stout master points or securing shoes and gear to packs and harnesses

Well Built
Solid construction and nice and lightweight. Love the orange indicator feature. I replaced my saddle manufacturer carabiners with these, and I wish I had done it sooner.

My favorite big carabiner
I love mammut’s orange locking identifiers. It makes it harder to miss an unlocked carabiner for sure.

Might be my all time favorite locking HMS. It has a massive basket and is surprisingly light. These are my go to for anchors.
