Why We Like The Halo Tent

The Marmot Halo Tent's extra-large interior easily holds all six members of your family during a weekend trip, and its four-pole design withstands a stormy day in a remote base camp. Marmot used a double-door, double-vestibule design to allow easy entry as well as provide tons of out-of-the-rain storage space for boots and packs. The 81-inch interior height allows a six-foot person to easily stand up straight in the middle. Needless to say, there will be plenty of room for card games when you're stuck in the Halo Tent during a three-day storm.

Here's what customers have to say

The tent is spacious and well-designed, accommodating up to 4 people and their gear comfortably. It is described as durable and weatherproof, handling heavy winds and rain effectively. The large vestibule is a particularly useful feature. However, some users experienced minor issues with the rain fly and occasional condensation. Overall, the tent appears to be a high-quality, versatile option for family camping trips.

Take Me with You in All Seasons

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this tent in the Summer and Winter adventures. It is a great tent. Easy set up with 1-3 people. Durable and strong tent and have used in many places and in all kinds of weather. Lots of storage pockets. Great height/head room even for a tall person. Love the ceiling mesh to see the stars if the vestibule is off. Good circulation and ventilation. Large vestibule space to store gear and even cook in it if is stormy outside. Weather protected. Great place to hang out as a group while waiting for the storm to pass by. Although it is a 6-person tent, it is pretty tight and have to use 20 inch sleeping pads to truly fit inside. 25 inch sleeping pads. An issue we had was condensation even if well vented during the winter. The tent is heavy so splitting the tent parts is a good idea if backpacking in.

Works great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After another brand's highly-rated tent was not up to our expectations, I purchased the Halo 6p. It has been great for us. We are a family of 4 and there is room for 4 sleeping bags with room to spare for gear and maneuvering. The foyer space in the front and back have worked great at keeping things dry and providing a nice, covered outside area.

QC issues

I wanted to love the tent after reading glowing reviews on reddit however mine had tons of poor stitching, pinholes galore, and a few other details that seemed like oversights. The lack of a full privacy door on back of tent is odd, especially for a basecamp sized tent big enough to change in. Also the expensive footprint doesn't actually clip in which is even more odd, it doesn't seem like a great design. On a positive note, I did set it up in a rainstorm and it was completely dry however the details seem really sloppy and I expected more for a backcountry family tent at its price point. I did not realize it did not have a tub bottom until I got it which was a bummer. Really conflicted at this point as a backcountry guy that's used tons of Marmot gear in the past.

By far best tent yet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So easy to set up but make sure you check on youtube once again before heading on your trip. The radius is very comfortable and makes it feel much bigger then its floor area. It fits our 4 person situation (2 adults with 2 kids), which is 2x queen size inflatable mattresses stuck to one another, and leaves space ion front for our stuff. My only reason for the 4-star rating is that i wish Marmot made an 8 person tent, for extra comfort..

Roomy, and a BREEZE to set up given the size!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 6 Marmot tents and this one doesn't disappoint! despite it's enormous space, it's very easy to set up. While shopping for a tent big enough for 2 people and 4 large dogs, I went through a lot! I was looking at a North Face one, but again, Marmot and the double walls, wins! ThIs vestibule is quite large and has a lot of options. It also has ample fly venting which some tents had zero on their fly's! My only gripe is the half window covering in the back, but I just hang a lightweight fabric over it if I need the privacy and open rain fly. It's a very roomy and fantastic tent! I love Marmot!

Easy setup!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Color coded poles make setup a breeze. I did need a little help from my wife to put up the fly but all and all very easy. We have only had a chance to set the tent up and let the kids check it out, but we are all looking forward to warmer weather so we can try it out for real.

Halo tent old version vs newest version

Its a beautiful tent. I have had a previous Halo tent for 6 years which I have really enjoyed. I love all the improvements in particular with the mesh on the doors with the ability to cover for privacy. I appreciate the door zippers and how the entire area can be opened. However, I took a star away because with the larger doors there was a loss of pockets from my previous version. The biggest negative is the height of the tent. Our previous version my 6ft husband could stand up throughout most of the tent space. In the new version he can not stand up straight comfortability even in the middle. I will concede that the height of the previous tent likely affected its ability to withstand wind. Our last tent struggled in Joshua Tree and I'm hopeful this new version will do better.

Wow again rain, but cross venting in humidity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great tent overall. Went camping in the winter for over 20 days on the beaches and state parks on Big Island of Hawaii— which means rain, humidity, sand, heat, lots of more rain and sand. We had 6 people; two adults, 4 kids. Here is the take: Rain? This tent is Amazing under rain. It poured and poured for days, several times a day. No water problems. We had other campers who ended up going to a hotel after one night’s deluge. We helped them clean up in the morning and their tent floor was soaked with a huge puddle on the tent floor. Ours? Nothing at all. Even with the vestibule open to the elements in order to get some air venting. Five stars on the rain issue. Venting, then becomes the counter-point. As I said, it gets hot and humid and with that many bodies in a humid tropical rainstorm it’s sweaty. The front vestibule is brilliant, but the side windows don’t vent well and the rear is tricky to open during a rainstorm because it will cause leaks. Problem? Not much cross-venting possible. So the heat and humidity is trapped. Especially during a rainstorm. Perhaps I’m asking too much. It’s an incredible tent and I don’t think the competition can do any better.
