Stay dry and on the move with the PreCip Eco Jacket’s packable waterproof design

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I always keep this jacket stashed in my hiking pack. It’s super lightweight, totally waterproof, and has great ventilation thanks to the underarm zips. I love how it packs into its own pocket and doesn’t take up space when I’m not using it. Great for sudden downpours or misty mornings on the trail."

From rainy trailheads to misty city mornings, the PreCip Eco Jacket helps us stay dry without overheating. Marmot built this versatile shell with a recycled nylon ripstop fabric and their waterproof NanoPro Eco membrane, offering reliable protection that’s as breathable as it is packable. Fully taped seams and an adjustable hood seal out rain, while a drop-tail hem and regular fit allow us to move freely under the clouds.

When the sun comes out or the pace picks up, underarm zippers release excess heat and the whole jacket stows neatly into its own pocket. Whether we're backpacking, commuting, or chasing afternoon storms, the PreCip Eco keeps weather worries out of the picture.

Here's what customers have to say

The jacket is lightweight, breathable, and packable, providing effective protection from light to moderate rain. However, some users report issues with the waterproofing, noting it soaked through in heavy rain. Sizing also seems to be a concern, with recommendations to order a size up, especially for layering. Overall, the jacket is a solid choice for everyday wear and light outdoor activities, though its performance may be limited in heavy rain.

Excellent jacket for the elements

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a Tour Guide for 22yrs and being in the elements of the canyons I need the best. I get to know very well if the equipment works. Going and spending the money is well worth it. The jacket is not heavy so it makes it comfortable on a monsoon day. Packability if you wrap it perfect then it's great. I take cere of my equipment because that is is my job for myself. definitely buy and do your homework and see what works for you.

Solid rain jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rain jacket is really light and breathable, especially with the zip arm pits, and yet still protective from the elements. I am really happy with it and packs up very well

Great lightweight jacket

Great rain jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
Medium

Keeps me dry during hikes with light rain and mist. I loved the adjustable hood to keep rain out of my face. The unzippable armpit holes are great to help keep you cool when you warm up hiking. I haven’t tried it during a heavy rain yet.

Beautiful color

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this rain jacket for hiking Glacier National Park this fall and for the Camino in the spring. The watermelon color is beautiful. I’d say they run a tad small. I’m 5’7” 143lbs and got a medium. It fits perfectly in the body but probably not much room for layers (I know, I could have got the large:) I’d also note that the sleeves are very long. Overall I like it and hope it keeps me dry while hiking.

Peace

Exactly what I was looking for! Better than expect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a waterproof jacket with a hood, pockets, zipper, and Velcro closure, including the neck and wrists and That would pack down small enough to fit in my crossbody sling bag. This jacket fulfills all of those perfectly!

Well-designed jacket

Great cut and fit, and so far works well to keep me dry. It's lightweight and just a shell, which is what I wanted for warm weather activities, and the hood is large enough to protect well and has clips to stay in place. This jacket has everything I was looking for.
