Why We Like The Tungsten Tent
Not feeling cramped is essential when we're sharing a tent with others, so we love that Marmot's Tungsten 4P Tent uses a volume-optimizing design to open up the interior space. This makes the tent a great option for maximizing efficiency when backpacking with a crew, or when we just want extra space for car camping. Sturdy Velocity HD poles withstand howling winds when we're hunkered down in exposed terrain, and the robust fabrics are treated to repel downpours. Marmot also included a footprint to set the tent up using just the fly, poles, and footprint to create an ultralight, minimalist shelter during light and fast missions.

Tungsten 4-Person Tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tent is compact and light. Nylon tabs which retain the poles could be stronger. Can't wait to test it out to see how dry it stays in the rains.

TUNGSTEN 4P TENT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this tent a lot. I appreciate that I do not have to fish the poles through fabric. I can just hook the clips to the poles and snap the rain fly. It is fairly roomy and is truly freestanding. The floor material is a little thin but being careful where you set your tent up and using a ground sheet or tarp helps. I've used this tent in 100+ degree weather and freezing cold weather. It ventilates well and keeps the rain out.

Good Solid Tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used a Marmot Tungsten 4 person tent for a few years now. It's been through very heavy downpours, mud, and many less than ideal conditions.... the tent has taken everything thrown at it and come out Great. After a few years it is sagging just a bit but still sets up reasonably tight. The "bathtub" constructed bottom is excellent to keep out water infiltration. This tent may not be ideal for backpacking due to weight.

Good tent so far; better instructions, please
I really like the tent; I've only used it once so far - a week of camping in Voyageurs National Park. Having switched from a classic high ceiling dome tent, the reduced height has been a bit of a adjustment challenge. I love the small vestibule entry areas. It's easy to set up for the most part, but it gets a bit tedious when you have to attach the Velcro strips on the inside of the rain fly around the poles. Also, the instructions for setting up the tent are 8-10 wordless drawings which left me figuring some of the set-up on my own. Wish the instructions would have been clearer about how the larger hooks/clips attach near/at the top of the tent and how they interact with the red poles. Searched for a good set-up video on YouTube and found none.

The only tent I"d take to Katmai.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 4P
- Height:
- 6' 5"
- Weight:
- 255
I have been camping at Katmai every summer since 2017 (with the exception of covid 2021). I have camped in June, August, and September. Each month brings totally different weather conditions from violent winds with heavy rain to Spring like days for a walk in the park. This tent has withstood all conditions without fail. I am on my second tent only because the airline lost all my baggage in 2022. This is a great tent.

Super easy set up!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought this tent because, with 2 adults and 2 dogs, the 2-person backpacking tent was getting a little tight. I like all that it comes with for the weight and price. I also love that it's bright and easy to see. Set up was very easy since everything is color-coordinated. The rainfly snaps were a nice touch and will be great when setting up in the dark after a night hike. Another awesome feature is that the tent itself is almost entirely mesh. If you're not in a campground, the open concept would be great for stargazing in the summer but without the rainfly, there isn't a lot of privacy so I would keep it on if you're in a campground.

Nice Tent, Easy setup
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Set it up in the back yard with sons just so its not the first time when we are in the woods. It was pretty easy and seems to be a quality tent. Hopefully it will last through years of backpacking/camping with my boys.

Perfect Tent for Fall BWCA Adventures
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Tungsten 4-Person Tent on a 03-07 OCT BWCA trip, and it performed extremely well for three male adventurers and all our gear. The tent provided plenty of space, and it kept us dry and comfortable, even in colder conditions. Setup was quick and easy, and the durability of the materials was clear. The tent handled the wind and elements without any issues. Highly recommend for anyone needing a reliable and spacious tent for outdoor adventures!

There are two doors for the Marmot Tungsten 4 person tent. Does the rain fly have an opening/access for each of those doors? If so, are they identical to each other? Thanks!

Why does the screen on the tent go lower to the ground on the right hand side compared to the left? We recently had issues with rain water/mud splashing up from the ground into the tent on the right hand side where it's lower.
