Agility Peak 5 Bliss Shoe delivers rugged comfort and grip for technical trail adventures

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve taken these on some seriously demanding trails—wet rocks, loose dirt, steep climbs—and they just hold up. The FloatPro midsole gives me cushion without feeling mushy, and the MegaGrip outsole is rock solid, even on sketchy terrain. They're my go-to for long, technical runs."

When the terrain gets wild and the trail throws everything at us—from loose debris to steep, shifting ground—the Merrell Agility Peak 5 Bliss Shoe keeps us stable, comfortable, and moving fast. Designed for the runner who thrives on technical challenges and frequent changes in pace, this trail runner balances cushioning, grip, and protection in one dialed-in package.

The Vibram® MegaGrip® outsole bites into dirt, rock, and mud with ease, while the FloatPro™ Foam midsole keeps our stride light and springy over long distances. A built-in rock plate guards against sharp terrain, and the engineered mesh upper breathes easy while holding strong. Recycled materials add a layer of sustainability, and details like the external rear sling and protective toe cap lock in the fit for confident movement in every direction.

Here's what customers have to say

The trail shoe provides a comfortable and stable fit, with good cushioning for long hikes and runs. While some users noted issues with the midsole and grip, the shoe generally handles a variety of terrains well. However, it may not be suitable for extremely technical or rugged terrain, and some found it a bit stiff initially. Overall, it is a reliable and comfortable trail shoe, though users should consider the potential drawbacks.

Bad design

I’ve gone on maybe 10 trails with these. They looked still brand new basically and they did not perform on a down hill rugged hike that I went on yesterday. It was only 4 miles and the shoes were in great condition before the trail. But afterwards I had to end up through if them away. They blew out through the sides easily and I was pretty disappointed. I’ve never had a bad pair from Merrel before till now. The fabric didn’t hold up at all. I was left coming down the mountain with 2 miles of trail to go and my feet hitting rocks. I would recommend these shoes only if you’re doing dirt trail runs with minimum grade. They are supper great for that and comfortable. Anything past that you’ll be throwing them away.

Las tengo hace unos tres meses y las usé en una competencia de Trail por senderos muy técnicos. Van de maravilla

All comfort…all endurance

Used for an endurance event - stood up well. No blisters. Snug on the feet. Light weight. Handles rocks and dirt very well. Always felt stable on the ground. Amazing.

Perfect walking and hiking shoe combined!

I walk my dog 2 miles every day on a combination of roads, sidewalks, gravel and hilly trails. These shoes are lightweight enough but have plenty of traction to give me confidence on these different surfaces.

Fails to perform

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. My son picked this shoe over every other top notch/expensive shoe because of the comfort. He stands on a turf football field (as a coach) and was fighting off planter fasciitis. Sadly, these shoes feel great but do not perform. Within 2 months, the soles are worn, the toe box material is stretched (and looks like he's wearing the toe shoes) and the overall shoe fit is stretched and unstable. These are shoes that never saw a trail, rocking ground or uneven pavement. I never thought these shoes wouldn't make it past 2 months. They are embarrassing to wear, looks ridiculous. Do not waste your money on these.

Better than previous ones.

This Ability Peak 5 my fourth pair. They getting better. Please if you can put rock plate all the way under outsole. One more thing, please cover all outsole with Vibram rubber (don’t leave empty space). Thanks.

Comfortable, but unstable in places.

Comfortable but somewhat unstable. Maybe I just need to get a bit more used to them. Replaced Speedgoat 5 with these after the latest Mizuno WaveInspire seemed suddenly inadequate for extended and repeat soft surface and gravel surface runs.

Stylish, Durable and Comfortable

You don't have to break in Merrell shoes. They are comfortable out of the box.
