Why We Like The Chameleon 8 Stretch Hiking Shoe
The best part about hiking is venturing off the beaten path into the unknown, which demands gear we can count on to safely guide us there and back. Merrell’s Chameleon 8 Stretch Hiking Shoe implements rubber toe and heel caps to provide us with protection against rock deflections and prevent abrasions, keeping us feeling confident when exploring new terrain. Not to mention, the aggressively lugged Vibram outsole helps us stay upright and comfortable when the once-dusty trail turns wet and sloppy thanks to unexpected rainstorms.

Here's what customers have to say
The shoes are generally considered comfortable, with good arch support and traction. Customers appreciate the easy slip-on design and stretchy fit, finding them suitable for everyday wear, hiking, and other outdoor activities. However, some have experienced issues such as loud noises, long laces, and difficulty getting the foot into the opening. While most customers are satisfied, a few felt the quality and durability were not as good as previous models.

Not a good shoe for law enforcement
Got these shoes for patrol in law enforcement. Overall the shoe retains heat in the summer making ur feet sweat. The lace locks are wonky plastic that are difficult to adjust and the locking mechanism breaks out ( it's tiny ) so easily lost. The shoe rubs ur heal and will cause blisters. I feel as if any running was needed while wearing these they'll fall off ur feet. So not good for running. The comfortability is average at best while walking.

On my third pair of these. They are my go to shoes when not working. Love the comfort and ease of putting on.

Great Shoes
Replaced some tire Moabs with the Chameleon 8 Stretch. I love them. Light and super comfortable. The no tie laces are awesome.

Durable, comfortable, built to last
I just ordered my third pair of Merrell Chameleons. I calculated that I put about 1,500 miles on this latest pair... probably at least that many miles on my first.

Best shoes I've ever owned
The chameleon is the best shoe I have ever owned. I've had 8 pairs. First saw them on an episode of man versus wild with Bear Grylls. He was using them for rock climbing. They are perfect for my HVAC work

Lawn Shoes
I work in the lawncare industry. These are the only shoes I have worn since they discontinued the All Out Blaze and All Out Blaze Stretch. I usually get 1 season out of them. I just ordered 4 pairs bc I seen they released the new model. Hopefully this one is not getting discontinued like the blaze did.

I finally found it
I've been wearing Merrell hiking, winter, snow & work shoes/boots for 10 years now, but these are the most comfortable & easy to put it on & take it off. Same durability, reliability & comfort like other Merrell shoes. I'm looking to buy them in black color for work too.

Disappointing product
I had to return these shoes as the material under the inner sole shifted and bunched up in the toe box, making the shoes uncomfortable to walk in. I tried manually pushing the material back to its original position but the material would just shift again. Disappointing as I am a big fan of Merrell and bought their products many times.
