Moab 3 Bliss Shoe takes on any terrain with legendary comfort and recycled grip

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve worn Moabs for years, and this latest version is the best yet. The Bliss update gives it a fun new look without losing the classic comfort and grip. It handles rocky trails, creek crossings, and long days with no problem—plus the recycled details are a huge win."

We count on our footwear to go the distance, and the Merrell Moab 3 Bliss Shoe is built to handle every step of the way. A longtime favorite among hikers, this all-terrain shoe delivers the trail-tested comfort, protection, and durability the Moab name is known for—now wrapped in a fresh new look that’s all about standing out.

Crafted with a pig suede and mesh upper for breathability and abrasion resistance, it features a Vibram Ecostep Recycle outsole made with 30% recycled rubber for serious traction on wet and dry trails. The Merrell-exclusive footbed supports natural movement, while the Air Cushion heel and Super Rebound midsole absorb impact and reduce fatigue when the miles add up. From day hikes to backcountry scrambles, the Moab 3 Bliss keeps your stride steady and supported.

Great boot

On the second day of my 80 mile backpacking trip. It rained all day. I sat my boots by the fire to dry. The sole of the boot melted. I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to continue hiking in these boots. It cooled and the rubber hardened and my boots held up and I was able to hike the remaining 60 miles. No issues and no discomfort.

My go to inside/outside footwear

Comfortable and easy wearing, moderate support, I’m finding (this is my third pair in two years) the soles separate from the toe and sides long before they show any serious tread wear. For three seasons this is my go to in/outdoors footwear. Could use slightly better arch support

Great for a steep hike

These worked out great! I was heading to Yosemite for a weekend, and I climbed Half Dome. It’s very steep and difficult, and these shoes had me gripping where others around me were slightly sliding. The website says they run small, so I ordered a half size up. They were honestly a little big, which made me nervous. But they never slipped off, and I was not in bad pain because I wore them around for a week before the hike to break them in. Recommend!

Go Anywhere Shoe

Great all-around hiking shoe. Comfortable right out of the box, with almost no break-in required. Not for the most technical trails, as a truly locked-in fit is difficult to obtain due to the way the laces are attached, which allows the foot to slide around somewhat while scrambling or during steep descents. It's a trade-off, but they are otherwise fantastic for a wide variety of trails. For reference, this is my 3rd pair of Moab 3's and I owned 2 pairs of Moab 2's previously. I walk 12-16 miles per day (for work) and wear them hiking/backpacking on my days off. These are a little less breathable than the earlier version of Moabs (Vent 2) and the Vibram tread/outsole is perhaps somewhat less durable, in my experience. Still, a great value overall if you are looking for a comfortable, generalist hiking shoe for normal use.

Comfortable and reliable

Merrell has been my go-to brand for years. Never left me down, I wear them on a daily basis and I have a pair of dress shoes and these Moabs. I simply love them, very comfortable and reliable! ON my latest pair, one of the studs came off. I contacted Merrell about this twice but received no answer. It's not bothering me in the end but honestly for the price I didn't expect this stud to come off and at least have Merrell contact me back. Love the shoes, didn't like the way this was handled (not classy) so took a star off.

Not Comfortable

Bought a few weeks ago. I go through a couple pair of hiking shoes a year. I walk a ton. These shoes are not as comfortable as I'd like. I've been wearing them awhile, and they are still stiff like brand new. The cushioning or lack thereof, is the biggest issue. My feet hurt every time I wore these. I have cheaper Skechers that have max cushioning, and are much more comfortable.

Best purchase this year!

Very comfortable hiking shoe straight out of the box! They have comfortable, roomy toe box with great grip. True-to-size. Would definitely purchase again.

NOT as good as "Boulder"

I bought 2 pairs of these, mainly because I loved the former "boulder" style that these look like . They are definitely no where near as comfortable to wear, and I can only wear these for a few hours at most before my feet start to ache . the sole has more arch support, but it's not a very accurate, comfortable arch .
