Comfortable but weak…
No break in needed. Slightly short fit. Sneaker like feel (all red flags). The non goretex waterproof is not waterproof at all. It’s porous. Sole flexes in all directions so it’s kind of weak for toe ins. Great for dry rolling rock (Moab? lol) but find something else for mud, boulders, roots, and water. Not sure why I didn’t get goretex , a gross oversight on my part. These will be great lawn and garden boots. Soft uppers on a 3/4 boot leave ankle support lacking.

Great boot, comfortable, build well, long lasting
Purchased about a year and a half ago. Have put over 1,000 miles on them. Concrete, asphalt, rocks, gravel, dirt, mud and everything inbetween. Time to buy a new pair as the soles are getting worn down, and there is one spot near the toe where the stitching has worn thru now. Trying a little super glue to get be by for a bit. Walked the 500 mile Camino in France / Spain, comfortable and NO BLISTRS. Very nice boots, well padded and comfortable. I did buy a good pair of insoles for them. This is the boot I will buy as a replacement!

Great hiking boots
Took them on my first hike... Very comfortable, and the waterproofing seemed to work well. I hope they are durable and I get quite a few years out of them. But very comfortable right out of the box

Not good
This is not waterproof. Also, the tread comes away from the shoe, amazingly just after warranty is over. I have only used these maybe one weekend a month since purchased. I can deal with the wet feet, especially in West Texas. But the tread coming off the shoe is not acceptable.

Moab 3s in Moab
Where better to take my new Moab 3s but to Moab Utah and the Colorado Plateau! The boots have been amazing through the rough and sandy terrain. No slipping. And they performed great on the day at Delicate Arch after early morning rain. My best part about them was I didn’t feel they needed to be broken in. Comfortable and solid shoe. No blisters.

Good shoe
This was my first real experience with hiking shoes. Went on several 1-3 mile hikes in/around Rocky Mountain National Park. Shoes were comfortable and sturdy.

Greatest Boots I’ve worn
I absolutely love these boots. I bought them in August and recently went on a 25 mile hike over two days in these boots in October. I didn’t have any pain in my feet or toes and I DIDN’T GET A SINGLE BLISTER. I will most definitely be buying these boots again when mine hike out and I highly recommend you to do the same amazing boots!

Backpacking
I just recently took my new boots on a 4-day backpacking trip in eastern Oregon, and they did not disappoint. Throughout my entire 23-mile journey, my feet were always comfortable and dry, especially when crossing through rivers and during the rain, hail, and snow. But most importantly to me, I always felt stable when going uphill and walking through some stretches of trail where one slip could have meant grave injury.

Moab 3, like a Moab 2 but actually waterproof ;)
I bought a pair of Moab 2s in 2020. They wouldn't stay dry so Merrell kindly send me another pair and said to keep the first (bonus points!). After wearing one or the other every day for an hour walk over 5 years (fantastic boots), it's time to replace. I bought a Moab 3, same size (+1), same comfort, and it survived a walk through wet grass without soaking my socks unlike either of the 2s. I see no reason to buy any other brand of hiking boot.

Size up (even if your feet are narrow)
The boots are nice but they are narrow at the toes. I returned them and sized up. I’m waiting for the new boot and hopeful they’ll be as comfortable as they are cute.
