Going up the mountain
Great hiking shoes. Very comfortable with lots of support. Feet are not suffering by the end of the day.

Not waterproof!
I bought these a few months ago and they fit well and are confortable. However, they are not waterproof at all. I wear them in wet grass, not even in rain yet, and my feet are soaked. Do not believe the waterproof advertising. My wife also just bought the women’s version on Saturday and the same issue.

Nice fit but not water proof at all
I initially bought this boot about 1.5 years ago. After a couple of months, I found that the boot leaked in damp grass, leaving my feet soaked after a short walk. I went to the store I purchased the boots at and they arranged for an exchange. After another few months, the new boots started leaking like a sieve. They are not waterproof at all. My boots see fairly light use, mostly urban hiking for about 45-60 minutes a day. I bought them because I have had Merril before and they were very good. These boots fit very well and were very comfortable to walk in, but if I can’t even walk through damp grass, then they are essentially useless to me. I do not recommend these boots if you ever plan to walk in wet weather or conditions. If you only walk in dry weather, they are nice.

not very comfortable and you have to tie a double bow to prevent them from coming untied.

Sturdy and Comfortable.
Hiked in Alaska! They were great for any weather including being on a glacier. Withstood rain and mud.

Bad Product, first time with bad boots.
Wore the shoes for the first time on a hike that had some ankle height wet grass, feet were soaked after hike. Merrell credited my account and did not want the shoes back.

Comfortable but not waterproof
I bought this pair in June '25 and have worn them a few times working around the property to get used to them. They are very comfortable and give good support to my arches and the front part of my foot. I previously owned the non waterproof version and was happy with the comfort of those so I decided to upgrade to the waterproof version this time. However, they are not anywhere near waterproof. I have worn them in the morning and the dew on the grass soaked through to get my socks wet. This was lawn grass that was cut the day before so it was barely higher than the toe box on the shoes, not ankle deep pasture grass. I was very disappointed. I will try treating them with some waterproof spray to see if that helps but I didn't see anything in the tags that came with the shoes to indicate this was necessary.
