Why We Like The Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Wide Hiking Boot
Whether we're slogging through mud or sloshing along water crossings, the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Wide Hiking Boot keeps our feet nice and dry. The tough, mixed-material upper features a supple leather exoskeleton for lasting protection, mesh panels for enhanced airflow, a gusseted tongue that armors our feet against muck and debris, and a breathable membrane that keeps wet conditions on the outside. As we venture farther along new trails, the aggressive lugs bite into and stick onto whatever we stride over, while the midsole's heel cushion and arch shank stabilize every landing.

Great support for the long haul
Great support : I use orthodics and the WIDE works perfectly. I walk Caminos in Portugal and Spain - and couldn’t walk these paths without my Merrills.

Best shoes I ever bought!
Been buying these boots for about 5 years. I have bad ankles and the support is great. Wear them year round. They may not be the prettiest summer shoe but have cut down my trips to the podiatrist for flair ups. Very comfortable on any terrain.

Too hot for summer use
These are way too hot to be considered hiking boots. 20 minutes in 17C temp and my feet were hot and sweaty. Should be advertised as winter hiking.

Great fit in the wider size
I’ve always struggled finding a good hiking boot due to my wider than average foot. This boot has been perfect!

Not waterproof.
Is the waterproof in the room with us? The sole is fine, but nothing about the upper is waterproof. Any time I walk through more than an inch of water, my socks are soaked through. I’ve tried every version of the Moabs, hoping I just had bad pairs, but the 3’s are the same as the originals and the 2’s. They’re sturdy boots, but they’re definitely not waterproof, so they shouldn’t be labeled that way.
