Why We Like The Merrell Moab Speed 2 GTX Hiking Shoe
Now with 30% more foam underfoot, the Merrell Moab Speed 2 GTX Hiking Shoe keeps things light on our feet and comfortable on the trail. The lightweight synthetic uppers lighten the load compared to the original leather Moab, and we like the all-weather protection of the GORE-TEX lining and the multi-sport, multi-surface traction of the Vibram outsoles.

Here's what customers have to say
The shoes offer good comfort, support, and durability for hiking and long walks, with breathable materials, a waterproof lining, and sturdy construction. Many customers report an easy break-in period and excellent traction. However, some find the fit too narrow or uncomfortable, even after sizing up. A number of customers also experienced the shoes falling apart or wearing down quickly, and the waterproof version may not be as breathable as expected. Overall, the quality and fit seem to be mixed, so customers should carefully consider their needs before purchasing.

Waterproof Merrells made my trip more enjoyable
Thank goodness for the waterproof Merrells, I wore them in Iceland where it rained every day. My feet stayed dry. Very happy with them. My only complaint is the shipping took much longer than what I requested when i purchased the shoes.

Completely Waterproof!
No regrets in buying these shoes! They fit my narrow foot so well and I love my dry feet when walking through long grass on morning walks! Worth every penny!

Merrill does what they do the best!
I went hiking in Zion and Bryce. My new Merrill’s did not disappoint. I didn’t have have 1 blister or ache in my feet for 10 days hiking. The best part was I wasn’t waiting to pull my hikers off at the end of the day! And I have neuroma and bunions!

12/10!
When my husband and I decided to take a trip to Iceland, my main concern was that I was going to be cold the entire time (I’m always cold), but more specifically, that my feet would be cold. There is nothing worse than cold, wet feet. After nine days of trekking through, behind, over, and under waterfalls, stomping through black sand beaches and many, many, icy puddles while enduring nonstop rain, I’m happy to report that these shoes delivered! Not only did my feet stay dry through all of the above conditions, they were extremely comfortable! Also worth noting: I did not wear or break them in before the trip—fresh out of the box they felt great! I ordered my usual size as well as a half size up and ended up going with my usual size. I wore them with thick wool socks and they were perfect. Highly recommend!

Best hiking shoe!
Purchased for hiking national parks and they have been great! Doing many miles on various terrain and my feet have been comfortable and feet do not hurt. Good traction that I feel very safe with climbing and surfaces.

Great footbed and sturdy materials
Great shoe but a bit too wide for my foot. I’m sliding around while going down hills and it’s causing my toes to jam into the front of the shoe.
