Why We Like The Merrell Moab Speed 2 Hiking Shoe
For running shoe comfort and agility with hiking boot support and protection, we look to the Merrell Moab Speed 2 Hiking Shoe. Now equipped with multi-directional Vibram lugs, this pair bites into soft earth and sticks to dirty rocks for confidence-boosting traction. The ripstop upper brushes off rugged conditions while letting our toes feel the breeze underneath, and the FlexPlate underfoot increases our lateral stability on uneven terrain to ward off turned ankles yet still allows forefoot flexion for comfortable climbing. No matter how far we go, the generous stack of foam pads the ground to keep our soles from getting sore.

Love my Moab Speed 2's
Ready to go right out of the box, no break-in needed! We hiked many trails/miles in Sedona + the Grand Canyon and the Moab Speed 2's were perfect. They are lightweight with great traction. Just a side note on the ordering a 1/2 size larger suggestion on the website. I did this and wish I didn't, I have bony/muscular feet and ended using Doctor Scholl's inserts and they worked out OK. Next time I'll just order my normal size.

Foot slides forward
The sneaker seemed to fit well in the store with lots of toe room, but after my first short 3.5 km hike, I found that my foot was always sliding forward such that my toe was striking the end of the sneaker. Proved to be impossibly uncomfortable to wear. Tried adjusting the laces to improve my foot position, but found that my toe was still striking the end of this sneaker.

Size just didn’t fit
Nice shoes, but I had to return them because they didn’t fit. My previous Merrill shoes were the same size but these were way too tight.

National Park Approved
I wore the Moab Speed 2 shoes while hiking in Zion and Bryce Canyon, and they met my expectations. They’re lightweight yet sturdy, offering plenty of support for moderate hikes. The fit is excellent, with a roomy toe box that kept my feet comfortable on long days. Great combination of comfort, durability, and performance. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable hiking shoe.

Love the shoe
Love the shoe. The only drawback is my toes made contact where the mesh upper lining met the rubber lining, which was very annoying. Had to use mole skin to make that point of contact smooth. This shoes are very pretty.
