Why We Like The Merrell Moab Speed 2 LTR WP Hiking Shoe
The cooler months keep trails wet with rain and snow, and Merrell keeps our feet dry with the Moab Speed 2 LTR WP Hiking Shoe. A leather upper backed by a waterproof membrane shields our feet from mud, moisture, and debris while the treated mesh lining helps manage the moisture and odors inside. As we trek, the midsole's integrated FlexPlate technology increases torsional rigidity for reliable stability on uneven terrain yet still lets our forefoot flex for smooth heel-to-toe transitions.

Comfortable and functional
Merrills alway fit me well. For some reason the inside lining is usually the first part to wear out and I wish that part were sturdier but they fit so well I just go get another pair. In this case I got a pair in black and they could serve as dress shoes in a pinch.Ed

Good runner, I would have given 5/5 if it was free
Good runner. I knew it would be a little tight before I purchased it because I have wide feet. No concerns.

Very nice looking and comfortable shoe
Got these in low top. These are great! Coming off a pair of Moab 2 lows for hiking I feel these are a definite upgrade in looks and comfort. I think Merrell hit the nail on the head with the styling, I actually am tempted just to wear these as a daily without hiking in them, I don't want to get them dirty! They look fantastic with jeans. Also note that these leather ones are more comfortable than the Speed 2 Goretex version...I tried on that pair and the cut outs for the ankle were higher and rubbed my ankle. There is no rubbing on these, however they are slightly heavier than the Speed 2 goretex. I imagine because this uses leather.

Nice shoes pity about the sizing
Nice shoes, pity you've messed with your sizing and they don't fit. I've worn size 13 Merrells for over 20 years as a tour guide but I've found in the last 5-10 years, different models have different sizing guidelines. Some models fit some don't, the model that I've worn for years no longer fits either.

Rugged Performance
These shoes are great as my daily workshoes on the dock or out landscaping. Great traction on multiple surfaces even if a little wet. Vibram tech on the sole keeps you going strong on the most rugged terrain. The leather material keeps your feet dry and adds durability to the shoe, but it does not provide breathability like other materials. I highly recommend these shoes for specific use, but if you plan to use them for extending hiking, I would choose a fabric material so you feet can breathe and not get overheated.

painfully tight and uncomfortable
I have an identical pair in green synthetic fabric and they fit and feel great. I bought this pair thinking it would be good to have a leather, waterproof pair. This pair feels drastically different from the fabric pair. I thought that maybe the leather might take some break-in time, but this pair is so tight and uncomfortable even after several weeks that I am starting to wonder if the size is mislabeled. This is a shame, as the construction otherwise seems quite good. I will call to ask about returning them

Dissatisfied
Laces to small, lightweight to get a good fastened fit. Heel to high - causing shines and calf pain

11.5 solid shoe
Well made shoe—only thing I noticed is a slight heel lift on one of my feet. All in all shoe fits tire to size and is comfortable
